What micron will keep out most bugs guys? Any previous experience with a go to mesh cover I can grab a link of? cause if not ill go fucken macguyver and shit!

They actually make an agricultural product called thrip screen but idk if I've ever seen it outside of Florida

I should def invest and keep em because imho covers for the soil is an excellent idea.

Hey guys is there any kind of preventative foliar spraying one can do while lights are on? Last time I tried to I burned meh babies badly and I don't wanna relive that nightmare. I try to focus on the undersides of fans, I wanna be 100% diligent in my fight against thrips and gnats!

Are these fungus gnats? I've also noticed a few brown tick looking bugs hanging around.

OK I think I've pretty much identified my unwanted insect guests, I'm 90% sure their root aphids.
Anyone know how to kill these things? I've read all kinds of things like H202, Bayer Fruit and Citrus, SNS 203 , SM90, Predator Neematoads, Azamax, Pymethrin, and even freaking Malathion. Every method I just mentioned had the full gauntlet of results also, from killed them in days to did nothing had to trash all my plants, just to make things more complicated. I'd rather not Agent Orange my plants with brutal insecticides so hydrogen peroxide sounds good, but again results I read on that vary. Anyone have solid experience (hopefully successful) in eradicating these creatures?

Don't fuck around with root aphids. My experience was that the imidacloprid products didn't work well at all, I had to use Triazicide. It's got a decent PHI, but I didn't take any risks with that. I ultimately lost every mother and cutting taken trying to get those genetics back on track. RAs just fuck everything sideways. Others may be finding better results now that we're all so much more familiar with these little fucks, though, and my experience with them was several years ago. Lost some incredible cuts to those little bitches.

It is very, very toxic stuff. And with regard to mites, know that it *must* be rotated with at least one other miticide that uses a different mode of action (single site mode of action 'cides' are known to cause resistance, pretty damn quickly depending on the critter you're trying to kill). IIRC, it persists in plant tissues due to translaminar activity, but don't hold me to that.

Can someone explain to me how the main way r/a get into folks gardens soils? I don't believe ive ever had to deal with the lil pricks.

Mine didn't come in any soils, they came on their own. ;)

Pure perlite hempy tubs, too. <double winky> ;)

Ugh that's grim, so are you saying it's a lost cause by your experience Seamaiden? That's not what I wanted to read this morning lol.

I REALLY hate to say that, so I'm not going to say it. But, be prepared for the possibility. Remember, like I said, it's been a few years for me and the total experience level of cannabis growers with RAs was limited. I wouldn't be surprised if others have pulled good genetics through the assault, but I'm not one of them.

Completely understand Seamaiden, I appreciate the feedback on your experience with the little bastards that's what I'm here for good bad or indifferent. ;)
I should add that I did spot these guys early when there was only 8-10 visible and I hit them yesterday with a H2O2/water mixture at a 1-4 ratio and added 1/2 inch of food grade Diatomaceous Earth to the tops of each plants soil . I did see a about 7-8 fliers/crawlers last night after giving the H2O2 and wiping everything down with 91% rubbing alcohol, but only 1 this morning. So I'm going to hit my girls again with H2O2 in a couple days, and I also bought some mosquito dunks just in case. So we'll see how it goes (fingers crossed), if anyone else has some advice on alternative methods to eradicate RA's any help would be appreciated.

So OGBiowar killed off your RA problem I take it? I just Googled it and at a glance it seems to be a nutrient line like Heavy Sixteen or Fox Farms. So did you buy a pack or use their brew recipe? Also I would have thought if I add a nutrient it would give the RA's something to feed on, and end up propagating the population instead of eradicating it.

OGBiowar (aka Caps Bennies) are three different packs of microbial inoculates.
Those pics of fungus ended bugs are ghastly and beautiful.
