Thanks man, I was thinking that too since I started seeing the claws and had read that was possibly N problems. I have only been using pH'd tap water in Humboldt nutrients soil so if it is nute burn something must have saturated the soil I put in that pot before I bought it, just strange none of the other plants had that happen all the soil came from the same brick.

What are you using to pH the water? Most pH up and down are "salt" based and can slowly build up in the soil/grow medium over time, I usually try to amend my soil with pH buffers before I use packaged up and downs.

If you want to lower the pH 'naturally' (without 'salts') you can use some lemon/lime juice concentrate, a few drops usually does the trick in a gallon of water.

I use Gypsum (to help neutral pH) and Dolomite Lime (to raise pH) for soil buffers, can find 50lb bags of each for ~$8 at your nearest "Home Depot"/garden supply store, the only bad thing is you (usually) only need ~1 tablespoon (max) per 1 - 1.5 gallons of soil, so those 50lb cheap bags will last you years :D

I was using the drops and just found out I was closer to a 5 pH than a 6 when I tested with the new meter I just got. Dumped all the old water and pH'd all the new water to 6 with the meter. I am using GH pH down solution. I think I might switch over to lemon juice for a natural alternative though sounds like a better option. I only need like 4 drops per gal or so to get it to 6 pH previously I was using 8 to 9 drops which was way to much I think. Just weird none of the other plants gave a fuss.

Agree with the chemical pH adjusters. My bottled pH up/down is from nectar for the gods. Awesome stuff. But I amend my soil as well. I use oyster shell flower and gypsum with just a tad dolomite. So far the oyster shells do just as well buffering the pH without a ton of mag. But I've had great luck with the dolomite as well. Been fortifying with glacial rock dust and azomite as well. Soil is rocking right now. Lol.

I tried crossing black widow with a number of different strains over the years trying to achieve that short flower time. I bet that cross tasted marvelous.. damn I could never get anything less than 70 days with her. I guess I just had some hardheaded bitches.......Black widow is so different ........I love it.....just not enough to take a qtr of my year away... lol

I doubt you will find much Black Widow left in that cross, might be worth looking through my NLx IBL (F5's) for a 8.5 - 9.5 week pheno (if they even germ, any left have to be ~8+ years old by now), I spent all those years trying to breed OUT that potent BW (too much sativa high for my liking) :p. I would say maybe 10% will still be a full on BW looking and smoking pheno.

NLx IBL was then crossed to a Celtic Berry (Christal Dixie X Celtic Stone x Badass Berry F2) from a good friend 'DeadVet' (miss you brother, stay strong and hope all is well), this strain usually took a full 11 - 12 weeks to flower out also, but the wonderful taste and powerful smoke was well worth the wait... the weight on the other hand, needed some beefing up... in comes the NLx IBL... CBx F1 was really stable for a first generation (taking a stable F5 and crossing to a semi stable F2 worked wonderful) just took forever to flower out. Rarely found a 9.5 weeker, almost all wanted 10.5 or 12 full weeks still...

A few years later I decide to do another breeding project with some clones being passed around a medical group/forum, decided to plant some CBx for some heavy night time meds and found an old pack of Serious Seeds AK47 I had sitting around/left over from a friends "double blind study/grow" on a few AK's floating around in 1999 - 2002 (when the AK47 pack(s) was bought)... thought to myself "It's been years and I haven't seen or heard of any AK being around to smoke"... "Lets fix that"...

I planted 3... but being 10 - 12 years old (when purchased, who knows how long it was in the pack on a shelf...) only 1 came out the ground... Turned out to be a male (damn? I wanted a female), so I just dusted the room with his pollen...

Just as I was about to bin him, I noticed some pink hue's and a little frost growing on his stems/balls ?!? "Whats that?!?" I had to get a smell of him, smelled like Cherry Rhubarb!

"Well Hot Damn! I think I got a Cherry pheno AK47 male to breed with :cool:"

70 - 90+ day strains are now finishing in 45 - 52 days tops! It's ridiculous! Barely enough time to pack on the weight it seems :D

But like I said, I spent a while trying to "water down" (breed out that Sativa smoke) the Black Widow, then it was crossed and crossed again... I doubt much if any BW will be found in the CBAK, might just get an extra frosty pheno, or maybe one that tastes like a Watermelon/Honeydew/Strawberry fruit bowl (how the BW mom tasted in 02).

As for the CBAK taste, add the taste of Cherry Rhubarb (and a hint of skunky funk) pie to a Watermelon Strawberry fruit bowl, sounds a little weird with the funky skunk added, but it's one of my favorites for sure :)

I doubt you will "learn something new" from me ;). I learned from old school techniques and growers/breeders (they have books/pdf files around still) like Soma and DJ Short (and many others), I refined their methods to work for my small room and lack of time/money and general laziness I get at times with all the things going on around.

I ended it up with a basic amended soil of: 'Majestic Earth Pro Mix' ($7 for a good sized bag, basically Peat and a little Gypsum, Perlite, Dolomite mix), I add a little more Perlite (~40% sometimes). I then mix those as much as my arms and back can take, and scoop that into my container of choice (3, 5, or 7 gal). I then add ~1 tablespoon per gallon to 1.5 gallons of soil of random organic amendments and as little as ~1 - 2 teaspoon(s) per 3 - 7 gallon container just 1 maybe 2 time(s) per grow. After 4 - 6 weeks, it's usually time to 'top dress' most organics and other amendments.

Only thing to do for the 4 - 6 weeks is add water, usually just tap water with a PUR 3 stage attachment and ~1 tablespoon Molasses per 5 gallons of water to help lower my pH and add some extra sweetener, carbs, etc. for the ladies (we usually don't have much lemon juice around, it goes fast in our house :D). I also try to bubble to water/molasses brew for 12 - 48 hours if I have the time, if I do that, I also add some Mycos (1 tablespoon per 5 gallons, a little overkill I think but it's cheap from a friend locally') and Powdered Aloe (maybe 3/4 teaspoon in 5 gallons).

Organics I like to use are Jobe's, Dr Earth, Down To Earth, Buffa-Loam, 'Earth Juice' ("organic based" according to some websites), and a few others I can't remember right now :(. Also other things I like to use but don't always have around (outdoor garden takes a lot) is: Bat Guano, Kelp, Azomite, Humic Acid, and some more.

Turns into lovely rooms and girls like this:

This is a room (back in 05) with some NL#5, AK47, Northern Berry (F2), Black Widow, NLx, and a Cali O. Grown under a 150w HPS, similar growing/feeding style as I have now (I just use different lights now)

Here is the 'Black' Widow (Mr. Nice called it White Widow when I purchased the pack, but came in a "new" 'Black Widow' labeled package), she is already getting darker leaves like her overly trippy sister I had to water down with NL#5 to get a migraine killing back numbing smoke that hit you just as fast as the BW, no waiting around for NL5 to put you face down in the dirt, it was always about ~20 minutes after you stop smoking.

Hard not to like Bluzboy as soon as u get a chance to speak with him. He has blessed me with some nice strains but dam bro without getting all mushy so lucky to have been introduced to u man. Don't be modest. U got some fire going on and ur the exact kind of breeder I love. Small doing it for the love and the what ifs. Much respect.

What's good brother @Azhden! Here is a quick pick of ur ak x blue dream. Just babies and apologize for the hue but can't escape the led. Lol. U see they r all healthy and reaching for the rays. Had five and four came up fingers crossed I find me a lady or four. Respect and thanks for all the hard work. Have a great new year to all! The four on the left. Sorry the pic is sideways. The two on the right are fpogs. Yes I burnt one but u can see the new growth is righteous! Peace!

Looking great so far, I'm wondering if the square and round containers are making them look/grow slightly different, they look good and 'uniform' so far for a F1 :). I usually get reports back of 60 - 80% females popping up with my crosses, so here's to you not drawing the short straw in your tester pack :D (have plenty of those and other AK crosses left still)

The last time I grew a AK47 female (06) I found this "cherry pheno" female, take a look at her for any 'AK' traits in your babies ;) I can see a few traits leaning that way already (the thin then fat {but rounded/spade shaped} leaf structure)

Huge chunky buds, the smoke was great and extremely smooth/potent, even heavy smokers would call it quits after 4 or 5 hits :p. Oh how I miss those days, when strains like "AK, White Widow, Northern Lights, and Jack Herrer" was the "top shelf, 1 hitter quitter" strains :) how the times have changed

OH do I hope I get a pheno like that bro. I love ak AZ and it's been such a long time since I held some in the grow room. Got some good stuff cooking over here but I'm loving the possibilities with this strain! Can u tell the world the finish time again. That's what has me extra excited about these plants!

You can find phenos that will finish as early as 45 - 52 days, just like the old AK's used to :) but any Blue Dream phenos can take as long as 70 - 77 +/- days :eek:.

Every other cross I made with the AK47 male, even the long 11 - 12 week strains, have been slashed down towards the AK flowering times (expect buds to amber up, turn red/orange haired, 'plumped' up buds/calyx).

But you being the first to test this specific AK cross, I have no idea of what the flowering times will be, I'm hoping that AK47 stud does more of his wonderful magic and does a number on that Blue Dream 10+ week flowering time.

Also wish you the best in finding a "Blueberry Muffin" leaning pheno like the mom used, smelled like freshly baked blueberries, it's not the "real Blue Dream" everyone else knows, but a recreation/version from another CO grower 'MGcanna' I think was his 'forum name'... I can do some searching on to what he used, but it might take me a couple days/week to do so... the mix of Blueberry and Cherries had me dreaming up great things with that cross, let see if 'all the stars aligned' just right when I made this cross :p

Soon to come from my garden is some "Blue Dream" F2's (pic below) and a few other BD crosses, on top of those Silver Bay 99 crosses :) going to be a busy 'new year' gathering seeds :D... next grow is a non breeding run, so just dank flowers in my near future, no picking through dozens of beans to get my meds :rolleyes:

OK so crazy excited about my grokashi! Cane in the mail today. @Andy Genesis is u get some time bro can u let me know how much to add to a gallon of casting tea please. Also can u tell me the best way to use it as a top dressing and finally what % do I mix per gallon of soil. I realize there is directions on the bag but they aren't very clear. Not sure if there is some kind of preparation before top dressing. Thanks ahead of time. Anyone else feel free to chime in here.
