I've gotten into it. Like, really into it. I've made so far several no-knead loaves, a couple of slap & fold loaves, but the no-knead is the easiest and has given me the best result.

I've also made sourdough beignets, to fucking DIE FOR. Sourdough crackers, sourdough bagels, sourdough burger buns, and sourdough biscuits (again, to DIE FOR).

I belong to a sourdough bakers group and we're getting a lot of new members who say that, despite being gluten-intolerant, sourdough is ok for them to eat. I think something's going on with all that fermentation, myself.

So, anyone else?

Pix, or it didn't fucking happen!

Hey Sea! Could you write up a recipe for your sourdough please. My wife loves to bake bread and stuff and I'd like to taste something new for a change.

Keep it tasty And crunchy!

I have a whole slew of recipes, does she already have a sourdough starter going?

@AlaskanGrown -- we've got some bakers who are using sourdough cultures that are a couple hundred to a few hundred years old (some Italian members, OMG). I think that is SO COOL.

We really love our Viking dual fuel infrared convection oven. top dollar we paid. $7,500.00. Can bake up to 12 loaves and they all come out perfect on convection bake...
Their refrigerator was about the same price and was the biggest piece of sit we ever smelled.
Ice maker never worked, the plastic drawers cracked even after constantly after replacement several times . they sent techs from all over to try and fix. The replaced unit, still no good. I bitched and bitched they finally came and got it and refunded our money.
Went to Sears got a replacement twice the size 1/2 the cost...
Any way good thread lets get to baking.....

Not yet, but as I understand that shouldn't be a problem. She just needs to mix equal parts flour and water and let it sit for a few days until it starts to bubble than add some more flour and water. Am I right?

I'm in for any kind of recipes especially those burger buns ;) She does baking I do cooking :D

@Seamaiden ...I was really "jonesin'" for some of your beignets this morning darlin. Those damn things were simply sublime baby.

this place is absolutely amazing. The bread and Artichoke soup combo is the worlds best...
Been going there 50 plus years and when I am in the area it's a must visit...

I've been thinking about getting a bread machine if that counts for anything...

Go for it....pizza dough we make is the bomb, easy quick cheap...

Yummy! My favorite is a rustic sourdough.
I have baked plenty of bread, never sourdough.
