1- I just ordered a gorilla grow tent and I may have to put in area of basement that's a storage area under outside porch. Now it's 45 F and humidity is 45% now my question is I'm using a 1000w hps bulb will that be enough to heat tent to the 70-75F temp I'll need.
Mind you I'm in northeast and right now it's still cold outside

2- I may be able to kick wife stuff aside and use other side of basement (around HW TANK AND FURNANCE) where temp is bout 60F but humidity is like 30%.

So should I take the totally hidden spot and I'd guess get a small space heater if lights don't do it or take warmer side and get a humidifier to raise the humidity. Since I'd guess the lights would raise temp up.

I'd guess these tents if vents closed will keep in the heat.
Tent is 4x4

All suggestions are welcomed and appreciaged

You don't have to hurry,
look around;
I think @Seamaiden can move it anywhere you want--
when you decide on a home...

I merged two threads on the same subject and sent the OP a message via the merger module. I couldn't see what section it went into, but felt since either were appropriate I'd let the title decide. I think growroom design is ok, yes? If OP prefers I move it to basic growing info, I can do that, too. :)

Welcome to the farm, btw. :)

So I recently put my new 5x5 gorilla grow tent in my basement too. I have no heat working in my basement and but it is insulated so in the winter it doesn't drop much below 55f...I had put up some walls a few years ago so its like their is a room in my basement that has another room inside of it and that is where i keep the tent. When the lights are on my tent runs between 75-79 depending on where the thermometer is, now before i started my grow i tested all this and notcied that when the lights were off the tent would drop to 60 or even a lil less. So i got creative and figured out that if i close off the room and hang a blanket covering the doorway to where the tent is about 20 mins before the light went out I could build enough heat in that room to keep it above 68 during the 6hrs lights were off...if i hung that blanket any earlier than that the heat would build too much and my inside tent temp would rise above 80-85 and i didn't feel comfortable with that...I also made it so the lights were on during the night and off during the day to help as well. It is a lot of work and people not working from home might not have this luxury but I hope this info helps...
