Took one of four branches down today of Starbud. Will take another in a week. The nugs are very tight and dense. Smells wonderful... definitely a fruity smell - almost a tad musky, but not really. No longer like a dirty hamper, much more on the dirty fruit side. :) Sorry for some of the pics with focus issues.

After only a day in the drying closet, when I squeeze the buds I get full on fruity delight from the resin. It is straight dank-fruit smell, no grassy-ness to it at all.

Smoke some "N" just now, great smoke especially for the lack of curing yet, and harvested early. My fingers are getting itchy though, so I know there was a nanner in one of those nugs... Oh well, it was worth it because it gives me hope. It really is quality. So, I can't wait. Not much tangerine in "N", but some kind of blend of something tough to describe. It's wholesome and dank, almost like GSC but definitely of it's own flavor overall. I think "M" "G" "J" and "F" are going to be the most "tangerine." And I think "D" is going to be the dankest tasting (possibly more like "N" where it isn't as much tangerine, but the future is near)

And "D" @ 8 wks - so far my star pupil of teh TP's. Less weight than "J" and "M" but looks and smells amazing!

I took on a little project and decided to try to match phenotypes of the males and females. Of course nothing is perfect, but here is what I came up with. Please keep in mind I have been thinking about this since the beginning and have based the following on real experience, not just from a few select photos.

OK, I took so much time to find the right pics and put them together, I ran out of patience for an explanation. Sorry, lol. I've had my smoke and a meal now, so I am happy as a clam.

The reason I chose "H" to pair with "M" is mostly due to the tight, rounded bud structure as well as low branching and somewhat indica leaning leaves ("M" moreso than "H"). Both have dense bullet shaped buds.

And for "K" for "N" because pf the dainty top buds and smaller indica/hybrid, star-shaped leaves.

"B" for "L" because of HIGH branching potential and spear shaped buds. "L" has much more sativa leaning leaves than "B", and not as much "fullness" as "B", but it is the closet male I had and "L" was a good example of that pheno. (Though "D" is my preferred plant in this pheno range)

So, I was a bad boy... again... and sampled the Starbud and "N". Both barely-dried/drying and not cured. the Starbud, for me, is likely to blow the TP's out of the water... LOL I mean it was really good. "N" was great, please dont get me wrong, but that SB was delicious and flavorful. It tasted like danky grapes. And it got me nice and super high. I brought some to my family and they loved it - again, not cured.

...but TP "N" was still very quality smoke. Great potential once cured. So the rest of the bunch has a good shot at great.

Took a few of the girls down over the last few days.

First, "L" - unfortunately, I found at least 1 small cluster of nanners on each of the 4 branches. They were just starting to peak out of burried deep in the buds. So, the "L" momma is now trash-bound.

Sorry about the focus, now I know not to take pics right there anymore :) ... and the trim job. But once I found nanners I just morph into Edward Scissor Hands on those bitches.

The buds on "L" are medium-to-light density. Trimming this made my garage reek of tangerine zest.

Some "M" trimmed up.

Very dense and nicely rounded buds. Also made my garage smell like tangerine peels, but "M" is louder than "L" in total.

I had no problems with "M". Ten weeks without much of a deficiency at all and I know I was feeding very light the whole way. Learned that I lost some vigor due to not pushing a little more just passed half-way through. I was giving very light teas only and the soil ran out of the good stuff too fast. But I am very happy with this plant as it coped very well!

And the rest of Starbud. She really started to purple out at the last few weeks, though I took her maybe a week too long.

Taking a look at some different phenos in veg for a bit now

Just a quick update:

"M" has been dried and is now curing, when you smoke it [as it is right now] it is a great smoke, and after the exhale is when the tangerine flavors come in. It's oily on the tongue - almost like you licked the knife you used to scratch the peel of a tangerine/orange to make zest. Sour pitched orange/tangy flavor over-all. The buds are very dense and supple. I love the flower's texture.

"L" gives me hives, lol, but it tastes great. Dried and now curing. Very similar to M. The buds are kind of airy in a haze type of way. not a huge fan of the texture of this flower.

Starbud tastes great, very hashy flavor with an almost grape, but not grape after flavor during the exhale and after. Very pretty buds with the purple centers and very light green outer. Medium to decent density on most of the buds (what I left for lowers, after pruning, being included).

GPK ... is sucking balls for growth and flower size. I am behind on life's chores or it would already be taken down. It seems super dense, and I think it will be decent smoke, but they are just a bunch of tiny nuggets compared to the rest.

Will be taking all but "F" down within the nest week and a half.

Here is "D", though she was my front runner, I found 1 small cluster and one single nanner on her. So far the only ones to go full cycle without nanners are "M" and "G". And "J" and "F" still have yet to be harvested and I have not yet seen anything on them. I have been smoking on "M" for a bit now and I love it. Very tasty and great bud structure. "L" turned out whisky, kinda loose, but very tasty also. "D" is more dense but still not super dense - just took down, have not tasted yet. "G" has super rock hard dense cones for buds - very nice. Still not dry though, have not tasted.

I just put the GPK into the curing jar and, lol, there is so little quantity there it's kinda funny looking down this huge jar to just the bottom 10% full of tiny buds. HAHA, it really is quite pitiful. In contrast, "M" fills up half of the jar with nice dense fluffy buds. Starbud only filled up about 1/3 of the same sized jar. My jars are the 67oz size.

Just reporting, found nanners on "G" when I was transferring it into the curing jar. Oh well, moving on. That means we're down to "M" being clean, "F" still flowering and clean, and "J" in the middle of trimming and so far so clean. The rest of the girls are tainted, lol.

now that I have had some time to smoke some of the girls, they really are very tasty. I still have to try J and F, and I only got 3 girls to finish without problems, but the ones that didn't nanner are very good. Heck, even the ones that did nanner are mostly great also, but they just make me very itchy.

They all are very citrusy, but F was the most orange-like when I was trimming it, so I think it may be the most orange tasting too.

But all-in-all, M is my keeper :)

Also, running Starbud and D (already going) outside. Only a few weeks of starting to bud and the Starbud is getting SUPER frosty already. Can't wait to cross her with H (my male TP). I mentioned it before, but when I do, StarPower will be born!
