IF YOU ARE RUNNING UC, PLEASE JUMP ON BOARD

Been running the systems about a year now and have come a long ways, but still not there... help me dial this in!

I JUST GOT KILLER CLONES I gotta do justice to comming up

I was killing it in soil getting 25+ per light... my buds were bigger then, so take a seat and help me get it right so I don't have to go back ha. My ego is hurt, it sucks not being the best right now :/. I'm gonna log what I'm doing fairly regularly.... log starts at 3 weeks in flower

Strains-
Critical super silver haze
Grizzly purple kush (not purp)
Tangilope
Emerald jack

Uc4xl (30/35gallon)
38lpm ecoplus commercial air 1
All 0 ppm uv filtered RO water

Cultured solutions nutrients

Room temps 70's
Rh 40-55
No chiller now but chill ha, roots are happy considering

Shit seems to be dialed in

Looking pretty healthy now, but have been having some burning/possible nutrient deficiency show up soon historically.... hopefully due to too much air recently diagnosed (was running @ 76 lpm for 30ish gallons, over 2 lpm)

Tag in and help me get these fat! These clones I have coming up should be epic, gotta make sure I treat them right!

Is this your first time using RO water?... If so, don't forget the cal/mag... And that includes nitrogen to go with the cal/mag.

I'm running one system with the magiCal by techniflora (has N) and the rest are calimagic by gh. Why do you say use the cal mag with N, I thought I was supposed to avoid that so I don't overdo the N? I don't run chiller because I run multiple systems. I would need to run cool coils. I'll take some pics son here so we can start documenting

Cal Mag needs a certain amount of nitrogen or the plants cannot absorb it.

It's a simple matter to make sure your EC does not go too high.

You won't get the results you want if you don't keep the water cool... And you won't get as much dissolved oxygen in warmer water as you do in cooler water.

I have a chiller, I might hook up to one system to see if it's worth adding to all.

Here are some pics. These plants were thrown into flower 11/6, pics were taken today. I got a bit lazy a few days just using ro, no topoff so that's why the numbers got a little low, I usually like to keep them steady. I'm focusing just in this one light to keep things easier to follow...

This is the first net I'm using magiCal on too... so there's the calmag with the N.
I'll make the white board more legible, it wasn't intended for anyone but me so a bit sloppy

a chiller is a must .

I do have a 1/4 hp ecoplus chiller, but my roots are pretty happy... It's just that I run 4 of these small 4 site systems so I'd have to do a stainless steel coil thing in each system. Since I pulled one of the two air pumps from each system the water seems much cooler. Like I said I want to run this one without and if I still don't get the results I want I'll put a chiller on one system to see if it makes enough of a difference to do the coils... but I'm pretty sure I can get great results even without one

... so for now don't let that discourage you, I'm open to all other recommendations and open to the chiller after I get everything else dialed in

What are your temps now?... Your water temps that is.
Day temps, and night temps.

If they are over 70 degrees, you are inviting problems...

I run 68-69 degrees Fahrenheit at all times, and I run beneficial bacteria and beneficial fungi.

I have a CC 8 XL modified to 10 buckets.

Yeah I didn't mention I run all sterilize systems with uc roots (cultured solutions)

Since adding uv sterilized RO water my roots have improved BIG TIME... my water temp is prob just above 70, but no slime at all!

Also worth mentioning all ppm I reference to is on the 500 scale

I'm pretty sure I saw you mention that you have sterilized ro water somewhere else or maybe in this thread I'm not sure.

You probably won't have any problems with the temperature right around 70... but in my opinion, you are taking a chance by not hooking up a chiller.

But hey, we all have to make our grow our own.:)

Yeah, I think the high ppm+ too much air in previous grows was my issue. It feels like I'm starving the plants... part of the learning curve

So for nutrients I use on a fresh tank change

15 ml pro tekt silica per system (buffers ph)
Just over 1ml per gallon MagiCal
1-2 ml uc roots per gallon
Cc bloom a/b
Cc mid bloom

Topoff tank when not just RO water is all but silica

Ppms still way too high man, I'd cut it in half. Those aren't trees, their small plants, they can't handle anywhere near what the uc feed chart says, espeicially without a chiller. Just my opinion.

It's a little late in the game to make a huge change to this grow. Next grow I would say make sure your vegging plants are eating a lot of food every single day before you flip them.

Yeah they told me with my aeration to cut back the high yield numbers by 25% so that's what I'm gonna do and we'll see. Kinda painful to drop the ppm more but somethings gotta give so I can get the size buds I want from these systems

I came darn close to the 1gpw running about 300 ppm at my peak in flower. I did spike higher for a couple days and the ppm readings indicated it was a mistake.
~ Keep an eye on ppm, if it gets stronger day to day, Use less nutes. And vice versa, if you loose allot of ppm daily, add 10% and observe. Less gets better results then more when it comes to feeding in any system, especially when your using more then .75lpm per gallon or air.

Just my .02

I dog that, that's what I'm hearing. What are you using for lpm if you're topping out at 300ppm? Did you see any deficiencies? And of that 300ppm, did you still use 1ml per gallon calmag?
