Dude i do that same thing the day i flip em is also the day i put em in their final pot. I disagree w pops on this one i wud never flip then up pot a week later. The first 2 weeks of flower are ur last chance to get some substantial root growth.I got a question for you expert growers. Its kind of a multi part question. Anyone game for some weed talk?
There seems to be this period before flower that confuses me.
The flip.
Top. (if necessary)
UPpot
Filtered light.
Flip
Theres no room in my veg tent for the ladies once i up pot. So they get this drastic change. New pot. New room. New lights.
Im thinking they stunt and theyre not doing so hot once they hit this point. If i could find a real simple way to make this transition easier on them....
Last round i uppotted, dumped a bunch of ferts in and burnt em. My NL in particular almost died from the burn. THEN they needed to be topped. too tall for my flower space. So i toppped em. But gave em a 6-7 day grace period.
They needed filtered light so instead of sticking em under hps. I put them just OUTSIDE the veg space, getting whatever light bounced out of the room.
So with less light, they stretched during this period to find it and made up for the fucking top i gave them.
Then instick e under hps and just kinda gave it the ol...chips fall where they may attitude, moved plants around to compensate for the stretch until they seeemed to stop stretching.
Anyone have any ideas so i dont have to put my ladies through this hell before i flip them

Were here for you brother. To know a human faces this is awful. Stay strong homie, farm brothers got your backside when your feelin down my man.I hate to break out my Threadkill 5000 again but, I'm feeling the need to fill you guys in a little.
Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis is a living hell. In ms the white blood cells attack the central nervous system as if it were a foreign body, from the brain on down to the nerve fibers. It slowly takes away all of your abilities, affecting the extremities first, usually starting with the legs, and as one might expect, it also causes erectile dysfunction. The white blood cells eat the myelin coating from the nerve fibers from the spinal cord on down. Imagine a large grouping of wiring that has the coating scraped away in multiple places all throughout the bundle and what that would do to the signals being sent through that wiring. Messages get lost, misread, and you also get false signals. I can't tell you how many times I've just randomly felt like I was getting burned or jabbed with a pin or something. The misery that you feel throughout your whole body is something that is difficult to understand unless you're wearing those shoes. I can't find it now but, I read a webpage a while back where this guy was talking about his ms and saying that he had gotten mono and he didn't even know it, his doctors picked up on it. That should give you some idea. There's been so many times that I've gotten sick and I didn't really pick up on anything until my wife was complaining about what was going on with her because she had the same thing and then it would hit me, oh yeah, I've got that going on too. The only up-side to it is that I can normally keep going through things that would drop somebody else.
So when someone tells you that kidney stones are the worst kind of pain and shitiness you can believe them, anything that can put me down like I was yesterday is some bad-ass shit.
Sorry for blowing shit up, I just felt a need to let you guys know what I go through, at least on a physical level, the psychological is a completely different story, I could probably go on forever on that side of things, but we won't go there.
Oh stop it...i was just typing.
Ur right pops no one can understand what i go thru. Sounds rough man. Wish there was something i could do bud
Edit: what U go thru
Thanks guys, I was hesitant about even posting it after I had written it.Were here for you brother. To know a human faces this is awful. Stay strong homie, farm brothers got your backside when your feelin down my man.
I just had to top cause they were too big. They stretched more in the filterred light.Dude i do that same thing the day i flip em is also the day i put em in their final pot. I assure the reason ur NL almost died wasn't cuz u transplanted and flipped at the same time.
The trick to controlling the stretch is to anticipate it. Plants stretching in the the first 2-3 weeks of flower is a good thing. U just haveta know its coming. I DO NOT recommend topping plants that are in flower.
Some plants that are likely to stretch more in the first cpl weeks of flower have to be flowered at a shorter height. Ur not gonna make yr plants stretch kess by giving em less light in fact more often than not they are gonna stretch more.
Try not letting ur plants get so big before u induce flowering. U want em to stretch.
Me going on and on about transplanting doesnt mean i dont care lol. This is just an issue ive been facing in my garden for a good minute and i finally realized i could ask about it on hereThanks guys, I was hesitant about even posting it after I had written it.
I'm sure you're right on this but, I had to flip my SFL's when I did or their stretch would've gotten out of control for what I want and have for space, so I had to flip them in their #1's because they weren't ready for an up-pot yet. Hopefully things will work out ok.Dude i do that same thing the day i flip em is also the day i put em in their final pot. I disagree w pops on this one i wud never flip then up pot a week later. @G gnome you said they need their energy the first cpl weeks. And it usually takes a few days for a ldy to get used to her new shoes. Don't you think this cuts into root growth flower time?I just had to top cause they were too big. They stretched more in the filterred light.
I did read multiple times that upotting during flower is a bad idea. So you just straight up pot then flip.
My NL almost died cause i uppotted and then i dumped heavy ferts. Heavier then she ever received. It was a dumb move.
So your saying i can uppot. Flip to flower. And change them from t5 to hps and they wont have some sort of down period i could avoid?
Not tons but, work to do. I've had runoff water in my shop-vac for a few days now, I meant to do it the day after I used it and forgot, and my tea bucket needs to be cleaned out. I was going to do both yesterday but, I think we know how that turned out. Along with the usual love and attention they get each day!@Papa Indica you said theres a ton of work to do in your garden? Whatd you do spill a ML of water now you gotta break down and clean every saucer and pot? haha ya neat freak!
Nah, just being willing to listen when I need to get shit out is plenty.Whats up pops @Papa Indica is there anything we can do to help my man?
A closer look at a few things would tell you I'm a little short of a neat "freak" but, I do like things to be as neat and clean as I can manage.@Papa Indica you said theres a ton of work to do in your garden?
