Confused As To Why There's No New Leaves Growing From The Top Centre?

This is a strain called Painkiller XL and for some reason the top of the plant doesn't have a centre to allow new leaves to grow. I've never seen this before so I'm really confused. The first pic is the Painkiller XL and the other is Berry Haze, as you can see the Berry Haze is producing new leaves but not the Painkiller, there's no where for them to come out. Does anyone know what's going on here?

Wow, WTF? So, how'd it grow to the point it is now? Apical branching or what?
 
I've had that happen a few times, if you keep it around the leaf will either mutate and get fat at the base and then split and a new shoot will come out (trippy as fuck) or the leaf will just mutate into an ugly fat curled mess. If you're on a schedule pop another seed, this plant will not be normal at all.
