Well from what I've read is cannabis doesn't have to have a rest. if you constantly feed them light they will constantly be growing. you would want to look up the Calvin cycle I think it is called. I run 24 hr veg then when they are ready I just throw them right into 12/12 room. downfall to running 24 hrs a day is the constant use of electricity.

Not to be controversial or flame you @Stumpy420 as I have respect for you and the material you post on. I will say this tho, as it is MHO, if cannabis doesnt need a rest naturally, why then do we have nightime all around the world???? The Sun along with water are some of the more rudimentary life giving elements on the planet, why then would we think nightime wasnt part of the plan for a reason, like giving plants a rest??? Just sayin

It's hard to argue with that really. Here, so when we think of needs we think of what we would die without, food, water, (as babies) love, shelter. we would die if we didn't have food or water we die. we can die without shelter in the cold. plants need the sun to produce. they also need water. without those the plants die. darkness and night time are not needed. they will not die without it.

I would like to see a picture study of 2 plants grown 1 in 18/6 1 in 24/0 vegged for 4 weeks with same feeding schedule and controls and all that. which would be bigger, healthier, or in other words "happier."

I agree it can be grown with 24 light with no ill affects I have noticed a severe difference when the stretch being around 50 % when they have only had 18/6 :)

I should have proof read that 1st I mean the stretch at the beginning of flower being 50% with 18/6 rather than 24 :)

1 way to find out is to run it run 1 strain in 2 tents 1 on 24 and 1 on 18/6 1 thing for sure is the 1s on 18/6 won't stretch as much :)

Unlike other plants, the photosynthesis in cannabis is done completely in the light.
many, many other plants do part of the process in the dark,
but cannabis is a C3 plant and can create glucose/sucrose during the light hours, using CO2 in the light, where other plants gather CO2 at night to be used during the daylight...

that said... I still dont go 24/0 ever...

I have a strain that preflowers and revegges when going from 24/0 - 18/6

plus, I like to mimic nature all I can....

because once you drill all the holes in the upper container, it gets flimsy as shit and likely to crack... the lava rock supports the rest... lava being porous was the obvious choice because it would give support, yet be lighter and allow more water...

I do not do that to my smaller sips made from 5 & 6.5 gallon buckets because the rim of the taller bucket supports the other bucket quite well and it isnt necessary.

I have grown to love SIPS and would only replace them with wicking beds.
the water savings is incredible... and as little as you'll water, you'll need a new hobby....
