@sixstring they going to put you on commercial rates for your barn? Consumers is fucking weird they didn't charge me to run from the pole to the barn but they charge me commercial rates. I don't grow in my barn so I just had a 100amps put in. It was the cheaper option opposed to upgrading my house to 200 amps and feeding 100 amps underground to the barn
They told me that anytime you add a second meter at a household that meter automatically goes on the higher commercial rates. When do they start charging you commercial rates? Our power is pretty decent here.

If your growing and using lots of juice it's better to be on the higher commercial rates because they stay the same price per kilowatt hrs. On residential it's a lower base rate but they really start jacking your rates the more you use. It's a huge price difference once you start getting up there.
idk yet,she never mentioned my rates.i just assumed they would be similar to my house cause im not in a commercial area.but i do know that some commercial rates are much lower than ours ,like they get a discount for using so much juice lol.my old boss was just bitchin about this not long ago.they charge him a fortune for the office (an old house) but the maint buildings are all half the rate per kwh.seems kinda fucked to me@sixstring they going to put you on commercial rates for your barn? I can't remember the rates I was paying at my house but the more I used the more it cost per kilowatt. It got way more expensive. My commercial spot stays the same and I can run a lot more lights for the same amount of money. They sent me a letter saying I was in the top 2% electrical consumption in my area and wanted to come check out the house to see why I was using so much juice so they could help me be more efficient. Wish I could of taken them up on that offer. Would have been funny to tell the guy yeah I just don't get it then bring him in the house and show him the garden. Maybe this has something to do with it, what do ya think is this my problemWe can have up to 3 meters and still maintain a flat rate. Only reason I know this cause my dad has it on the house and he's got 3 shops and house. We have a shit load of wind power and now they are offering to buy a percentage from the solar grid at a discounted price locked in as long as you're a customer.
My commercial rates are a little higher per hour but don't go up. My house rates are lower to start but get jacked. Also different rates for peak hours at the house. Consumers doesn't make sense to meidk yet,she never mentioned my rates.i just assumed they would be similar to my house cause im not in a commercial area.but i do know that some commercial rates are much lower than ours ,like they get a discount for using so much juice lol.my old boss was just bitchin about this not long ago.they charge him a fortune for the office (an old house) but the maint buildings are all half the rate per kwh.seems kinda fucked to me
Ahh I see. We have dte for natural gas and consumers for the juice. I just assumed it was the same throughout the stateyeah i have dte energy here.

Currently working on a Mr fusion for my power needs. Stole the design from doc Emmet brown but can't seem to get it workingDoesn't matter how much power we use, flat rate all the way. Sure if you run a farm you go commercial but it's cheaper but that's using a fuck ton of power.
