Just curious if anyone has a link of steps to make best tasting, strong thc vape oil for making our own cartridges?
There are many steps online and its confusing...


Been searching online and its not super clear. Plus Thot others may benefit from having an updates thread on how to.

Am thinking make dry ice hash powder, then an ever clear bath, and extract and add the food grade oil...?

Any one have ideas or a process?

I had a friend who was doing this for a little bit. He would add .3-.4 bho to a 10ml bottle of PG and dissolve it in a double boiler. The flavor would have a slightly harsh hit until it sat and steeped for a week or two, but it was effective.

Cliff notes: strong recipe
2.5 g bho
2.5 mls pg.......mix together in shot glass on coffee cup warmer stiring occasionally. When flows together 10 min...suck it up into 5 ml syringe with blunt tip needle, store for refilling cartos or tanks ect.

PS for a boost I put a chard of bho in the tank whenever possible, like a martini olive

Cool. Can this be made without butane?
I was hoping to use dry ice to make hash, and use that in an ever clear soak, strain with a cheesecloth and use that as my 'bho' and skip the butane way... Then mix with PG.... ?

I never liked adding the propylene glycol.
I thought it was gross. As well as it "waters" down the oil. Meaning it takes more puffs to reach the desired effect.

So my solution was to buy an oil specific vape pen.

Just put your dab in the chamber/nail/whatever.
Then puff away.

You refill more often but that's ok.
Because I like the stronger puffs.

So what do the big vape companys do to their oil then...? I assume they have some oil mixed with hash oil?

Ye you can do that for sure. I pretty much do the same thing. There are quite a few posts about it I guess too. Seems most still call it ISO extraction even when your using everclear as opposed to Isopropyl.

-definitely dry/wet separate to hash first (solvent isn't selective)
-soak the hash in everclear, stirring here and there. (15 min should be gobs plenty)
-appx 7gm of oil can be held per 1ml of pure alcohol (near boiling)
-filter out the hash material from the laden solvent.
-can spread out to evaporate ...or...
I usually use a double boiler (small rice cooker and quart jar) to speed up evaporation of the extra solvent. When the solvent is almost all gone yet still fairly liquid; it get's spread out on a mirror (above a 350w radiant heater). It's spread as thin as possible while being heated to finish evaporation (mostly water at this point). Leave on until no more small bubbles form on the oil film; bottle it or what have you. it will always be just like a very thick oil. always workable (doesn't get hard), but sticky.

there are probably better ways to do this, so I would recommend to look around too. I'm not a big concentrate guy so this is all i do haha.

Thanks man! this looks really solid way to test it out. What I am thinking is eventually do this in bulk and do 100 cartridges each batch or something..
But need to get a process and great tasting receipe down first..

Would anyone recommend adding flavor to this, like grape/lemon/etc..
To enhance flavor and perhaps hide the BUD odor from the hits...?

I noticed my open vape Indica is plain , while my sativa has a lemon aftertaste..

PS, anyone know about how much liquid goes into the cartridges? 2-3 OZ?

There are companies who extract terps from other fruits for example lemon.

Then introduce them into the oil. After decarboxylation burns the ones contained in the oil off.

so why not mix the smokeable fruit flavored VAPE oil wiht my THC oil, to make a flavored blend, skipping the PG or VG oil?

You talked about making this in bulk I'm assuming for sale.

But there are people in the world that don't smoke cigarettes or nicoteine.
I am one of them.

Are there nicoteine free versions? Yes.

But they contain the pc or vg.

We need to find/create a better formula

O pen makes a cart with no dilutants. It's does not vape well. Their PG carts vape much better and despite being diluted they work better because you inhale much more active ingredient with each puff, even diluted.

Personally I just use a puffco pen.

No glues, plastic, or fibers.
Just a ceramic chamber with a ceramic wick wrapped with the heating filament.

3 temp settings.
And a large chamber for however much oil you want to add.

No need to add anything to your oil.

Why does everyone insist on adding extra stuff to their oil?
