We are in the process of opening up shop but cant seem to find local growers who want to sell to us. First we arent looking for consignment but had 1 grower saying they preferred it and most shops in town do consignment.

We found farms and growers out of town but trying to avoid 2+ hour commutes when we are surrounded by growers around us. Any advice on getting our foot in the door so to speak? Should we offer to do consignment?

Thanks in advance.

Who would rather do consignment than get paid on delivery? No one i know,it doesnt even make sense if you think about it.The best quality growers are cash on the barrelhead.Central coast is not as densely populated as other areas so some travel on your part(or theirs)may be necessary, another month when outdoor comes in you should have people knocking at your door, best of luck!

Yea my partner and I couldn't understand why besides the consignment fee this grower might be looking to charge us. Maybe it's just some bad timing right now on our part. Thanks for the response.

I don't know, I believe there are so many people doing light deps now that there should be plenty on the market now, as it's already September. I have no idea how to work in this environment, I've gone to a dispensary twice now and that's it.

Nobody wants to do consignment. I run at the first mention of the word when I go to vend.
If your open , it's just a matter of time before the local growers come to check you out.
Put up a sign, asking for quality vendors. On weedmaps put in your headline title "Venders Needed".
When growers know you have cash on the barrelhead you will have too many venders soon.

Best of luck.
Peace

Thanks man. Will do.

Get a nice jewelers loupe. When venders come in check the product visually for debris and trichome density. Beware of tumbled meds. I hate shops that sell tumbled meds.

Best of luck.
Peace

Thanks again. I appreciate all the advice I can get.

You might want to try taking a nice lunch to the local hydro shop, ply them with smoked meats and bbq sauce, let the guys know your a new dispensary owner looking for quality venders and leave a stack of calling cards. All growers need supplies sooner or later.

Peace

With the drought, new county laws and fires causing smoke damage to crops there isn`t near as much out there this year. I`ve seen dispensaries advertising to buy part or all of people`s up coming crops. That`s the first time I`ve seen anyone want to pay cash for a crop that isn`t even in flower yet! I myself won`t even try to get reimbursed for a crop that isn`t even in yet. It`s to much like taking a loan and I hate to owe anyone anything.

What is the location of your store front? Letting fellow farmers know where you are located may also help send a few growers your way. Also if you list your biz on weed tracker or some other places? I`m just finding it hard to believe you guys are finding it hard to find product for your shop. I can see where you might be taken by prices going up, but this time of year you should be able to find farmers.

Was told by our lawyers to stay off weed maps for now. Finding vendors has been a little difficult because of the pricing offered to us. People want to tax us now we hearing rumors about a single owner trying to somehow standardize the sale amount for local growers. We are in Bakersfield BTW.

Recently found a few vendors slightly out of town, 1 in town but his quality is bad, and we going to the convention held at end of month to meet more.

Right?
I am a female vendor and I am having a hard time coming across dispensaries who have interest in Light Depo Meds any referrals ?
