Drippers, Rez, Gravity And Pumps

currently rocking a 100 gal rez with a 1000 GPH pump, sending it over 1/2 PEX to the next room to drip on my ladies in 6" rockwool. on a 4 x 8 table. due to hight constraints the table is 6" off the ground, and in the other room the same for the rez.

Everythings is fine accept for automation.. When the pump shuts off gravity continues to feed the drippers from the rez. I need to pick the pump out of the water to drain it, so water doesnt slowly continue to flow.

Looking for insight as to how i solve this problem, a man needs a life and i gotta automate.

Shit that one is easy. Drill a small hole in the feed line at the top but still inside your rez. that will break the siphon. Just now it will spray as the pump runs. :ninja:

IME Works better than an in-line siphon breaker or whatever the hell its called, and from what I understand only a negligible psi drop.

Exactly. Instead of just poking a hole, use a hole punch for 1/4" barbed connectors.
Then install the 1/4" barb with a few inches of 1/4" tubing pointing toward the middle of the res but out of water.
This will aerate the reservoir a little each time you feed.
