It's the siphon effect that's doing it .... I've got it dialled in to 5 min every 3 hours but I noticed after a 5 min run the pump goes off but because my res is sat on top a crate gravity causes a siphon effect and it keeps going ...

Anything I can do?

I figured thats what the problem was. Stonestacker ses u can drill a lil hole in ur hose to prevent it. U can also install a "check valve"

Just more fucking about though ain't it lol .... I don't have anything like that lying around and it's more electric to worry bout ...

@G gnome I've just seen a few things mentioning a siphon hole .... just need to figure out where I put it and what it does

Yes, its more fucking around with the electricity but it also provides double safety and you wire the valve off the pump, so not much more work. Just my thinking. Never done anything related to hydro myself.

U put the hole in the hose just above the pump but still in the rez. What it does is releive the neg pressure inside the hose thats causin the siphon

Its really unnecessary. If hes not gonna just drill a hole then hes better off w a check valve. All a check valve is is a valve that only allows the water to flow 1 way
