once again mate stunner's, if you want to stop the ants, this is a good idea since ants secrete formic acid, this suppresses beneficial fungus, these you might need in the high heat :-) I would add a bunch of nematodes to the media, water them in fully, this will reduce the numbers of ants, and convert them to plant food :-)

i have a full acre 4 1/2 hours away,dont help me here ,,if i was there about 1/2 the acre would be garden ,rest fruit trees,,i love it all and if that peach tree dont act right,i smoke it too,lmmfao the garden i told you about ,with melons only on auto,,was right next door,2500 square foot,,had that fucker on auto pilot

now ive seen that before,and swear its a moth,im almost sure i read somewere they were bad,,im stoner but,,check it out bro,,i finally found what got my squash,,fucker looks like a red wasp,just a lot smaller,,but looks like a wasp and is a moth,,implants a egg at soil line of melons squash all types of plant that have that hollow stalk,,but larvae eat away at inside and deposit,looks like eggs and yellowish,,as long as sun isnt pounding the plant,you cant even tell you have them,,when sun bangs um,they lay all the way down on soil,,them fucking things get big too,you could put on a perch hook and fish them,lol

what like a codling moth? Just use nematodes bro, as part of an IPM if you can, they well a decent company like mine, would send you them as you need them, in sequence, so a pack for jan, feb, march etc etc varying the types to meet the likely problems. I cant send them to you mate as they are live and would be dead before you got them. Someone local can tho mate i am certain.

I planted some beneficial insects plants in another part of the homestead. :) I will take photo's in the future to explain and show more areas of my land. Not sure if it benefited these plants, but I got some cool photographs either way of nature taking care of my occasional pest issue. :D

I am not a fan of spiders, but when they are helping my plant's I love them. Needless to say Nature Wins. LOL :D

rotation and system in balance, this is the better organix way. We cant have beneficial insects, without some pests, and so our systems suffer when they are too clear of what we might not want.
Planting is the best way to get control, as much as we might hope anyway. We can plant all plants with a companion, this can attract, distract, but it can add yield and performance to your target crops when you choose the right partners. Under planting is a great idea, for toms i use marigolds to deter aphids, while attracting hover flies and parasitic wasps. The marigolds help prevent the soil eroding and maintain more moisture as well as providing a network of resource via partner fungus.
For grubs you need to think about nematodes and introducing these. I cant supply what we make overseas, its too risky to ship live products like this that can be better sourced locally

lots of people I know an see plant marigolds heavy on the border of their garden. I know your doing it for erosion etc. Here deer don't like them or the smell. Rabbits either.

i cant remember what it was called loked like a red wasp just super small,i watched one the fuckers sting the stalk by the soil line,and sure as shit found a bore worm were it was,,ugly little bastards too,,i just bookmark the nemotode link and going to look into that,,i lost my whole squash crop to them fuckers,,replanted and now they are about 6in tall and already got aluminum foil around base of stalks,,shit bro this year has been the worst for me,i got bugs up around here that aint even from this area,lmao

what where you treating with neem? insects or? I find any squash, or broad based leaf plants that grow low like this melon tends need to have the surface dry by sun up. The leaves are really quite delicate I find and easy to damage and the watering regeime are hard to sequence and so they tend to suffer molds and insect infestations. If i get molds, i tend to use water and whole milk see here:
Milk Solution to Treat Powdery Mildew

In a spray bottle, mix:

1 part milk (whole, 2%, or skim milk will all kill the fungus)

1 part tap water

Shake thoroughly.

Treat your melon plants etc at dusk only — wetting plants during the day can result in leaves getting baked by the hot sun. It looks to all the world like the leaves have been soap friend in the sun?

aren't most kinds of squash an zuchinni supposed to be watered from below? The leaves on them are like wash cloths. I alway hear that u water from below which never makes any since because of rain. I don't know the science but the stems an stalks are water filled it seems. Every time I ever tried to foilar squash etc it ends up lookin like I shook my have rinsed toothbrush on it., I water them with rain water, it's minimal now
