Okay so I've been lurking for months trying to get as much knowledge as I can. Bought a 48x48x80 tent, two 600 watt LEDs (close to about 590 true wattage with both running), have 4 single site dwc hydro buckets going running from one air pump.

I got impatient waiting for a friend to get clones for me so I did the unthinkable and bought 4 from a local dispensary that where planted in soil. I've read the horror stories from transporting them from soil to hydro, but I was very careful on the roots while cleaning them. Right now I'm running a super weak 300-400 ppm nute mix in my buckets, but was wondering about lighting after transplant. My brain tells me easy on the lights to let them adjust by just running one 600w led with veg switches only, but if anyone knows better please chime in and let me know.

Also thanks to this forum for all the great knowledge I've learned over the past couple months.

List of clones:
Afgooey
Death Star
Blue magoo
Marion berry

300-400 is not really that light. I top out at 600-800 on average. As far as the light you should be fine with what ever those led can produce. I'm not a led guy at all tho. And what size pump are you running?

Hydro farm 4 outlet 15/lpm.
its only running 3, 3.5gal buckets currently. I have a better one coming I plan to use the hydro farm one if my good one stops working. You don't think two 600 watt LEDs are too much for these clones after the stress event of removing from soil?
Edit: tent size is only 4x4 both lights are capable of filling the tent by themselves.

Man I really don't like commenting on shit I don't have experience with. The one should be just fine. But I don't think 2 could hurt the plants. I personally run bigger buckets and a 10gal brute trash can also. But I usually run one 970gph commercial air pump per bucket. Some times I split that into two. But you can't have too much air.

Also hydroguard will be your best friend. I don't grow without it. Keeps roots super healthy even in warmer res temps.

Awesome thanks man. I actually added 2.5 ml of hydroguard to each bucket. The other pump I ordered is 45 lpm commercial much sturdier than the plastic crappy backup im running now. Should be sufficient for 4 buckets.

Bro your already on the right track. Heads up, the more air you run typically the less ppm you need.

If my math is right that's like a 750gph. Honestly I would use that for one of my buckets. I really like 500gph per bucket minimum. But you should be fine with with that one you ordered. But when you can I'd upgrade. My results have only gotten better with more air. Here's one of my rootballs, it was grown in the 10gal

Those roots are amazing. And also appreciate the help, I will upgrade it I still have some Amazon gift cards to spend, I will just send back the 45 lpm one. Next projects are to insulate my buckets and get black tubing.

I've insulated before, honestly it didn't help much. If you were running a chilller it would be a good move. My res temps climb to upper 70s on the reg but they also cool when the lights off. The insulation actually will keep it warm. What tubing are you trying to replace?

The clear tubing from the air pump. My bucket temp is pretty low 70-73 depending on room temp. It's been pretty warm today and haven't jumped 73.

Air lines don't need to be black, if you had a water pump with tubing you would need black.

I really appreciate it. One quick question is if I transplanted from soil to hydro and they are showing no signs of shock in 24 hours, should I be in the clear or will it take longer to kick in?

I've never done it but you should be fine. They would droop and look sad if there was a prob

That is good news! they look pretty much the same as 24 hours ago when they where in soil.
They react really fast in dwc. Like if you have a bad mix in the res the plant will droop in hours, works both ways. If they like something they'll perk right up.

Hey MWJ, I'm getting a slight raise in ph. Going from about 5.7 to 6.0 in a 12 hour span. I'm ruling out tap water because the ppm of my tap water is very low. 30-40. I'm thinking it may be because I didn't soak my hydroton in ph'ed water.
Does this sound right to you? Any suggestions would be great.
