all it is is a propeller where the water enters.......unless the propeller won't back propel freely...so when the pump shuts off it stays locked

Sounds good boss. I got her going and I understand loud and clear. I am glad you talked me into going with this formula. It just seems simpler.... I checked out what midwestjay is using and that is about as simple as it gets. What are the exact ratios and sweet spots for nutes individually? I see where some guys look at individual numbers such as this post from another site.



After watching and reading and generally being impressed with the results you've all been getting with the coco medium, I've had to make the switch myself...

Being the rebel that I am...Not having coco specific nutes, and having a full supply of GH flora micro and bloom, I've been working at tailoring the 'Modified Lucas formula' I was using in pro-mix to suit the coco better...

The mix I have arrived at has reduced levels of K and P, and a slight reduction in total concentration, because I have been keeping the runoff to a minimum (only a few ounces of water come thru, just enough to let me know I'm completely saturated...

So... when I was using a modified lucas formula... my nutrient profile when growing in promix was:
N 130
P 93
K 163
Mg 64
S 43
Ca 130

By mixing 8ml/gal micro and 14ml/gal bloom and watering with plain water every other watering...

In the coco, I am now using 6ml/gal micro and 9ml/gal bloom which gives the nute profile:
N 97
P 60
K 105
Mg 41
S 27
Ca 97

adding 1 g/gal epsom salts to the solution changes the numbers for mg and s to:
Mg 67
S 61


Adjusting for the extra available potassium in the coco, the new formula puts me very close to the 'target ratio'... Phosphorous is a tad low, but I think there should be no worries there...

I have also seen advantage in keeping the coco fairly wet, I'm guessing that the coco holds the nutes so well, that as moisture evaporates out, concentrations rise...

That would get me out of the red, and get my new basement room built so I can get this huge fucking tent out of my bedroom. Plus that should buy me a light mover, and co2 setup. You harvesting 700g and I got to get up this morning to 3 hitters in my vial, and having to go spend 50 for a damn eighth. That is the whole reason I really started this. I got tired of buying a ounce, and never knowing exactly what kind of smoke I was gonna get. Shit can look nice as fuck, and have certain properties that I don't care for. I like smoke that motivates me and uplifts me... Brings out my creativity,........

But then again,,,,
At night I like smoke to put me to sleep, since I have a hard time going to sleep. So I guess I need 2 different strains.

so .........you don't really need to rinse out or leach out anything from the media before putting it in the flood table
the down curling will probably never get fixed for those leaves....N toxicity...but better feed program will help with the newer leaves
also ...I have a easy solution for you ...for light leaks.....
heavy black garbage bags and duct tape
make a skirt around the pvc stand
when you want to get to the resi....lift the skirt....
so the water should drain back down....does it have to do with the pump I wonder
well you only spent 5 bucks...so....i think a 185gph pump from the hydro store is like 10 bucks...should drain back

1. Down curling, tip burn, etc,,, will remain on the leaves affected, and all I can do is rectify problem that caused such manifestation, and it will correct new growth as long as I fixed deficiency/lockout/toxicity problem,
2. We are on the same page... I actually used a garbage bag, contractors grade I had laying around. I also insulated the reservoir with house insulation. Pic below. I do like the skirt idea and I have an idea for that :)
3. I am gonna look at the pump a lil closer and see what is going on. I am gonna make this pump work and will upgrade soon. Second installment of property taxes due in 3 weeks,,, So a rough month financially :(

Just to see if I have comprehended what you have been teaching. My bucket holds 2 gallon of water. I am gonna use the exact same formula as we did for the table.
So that would be 12/18/4 cut in half 6/9/2 Add the calimag first always! Then the micro, and bloom.
Boom! Pow!
And 75% strength would be 9/13.5/3
So let me guess here. I should start my seedlings off in 25% strength and then move up to 50% week 3 or so, and work to 100% by week 5. Week 8 drop down to 75% Week 9 25% Week 10 0%
Am I thinking right that I will want to taper off as I get close to harvest? Are my numbers close? I realize that strain dependant and flowering cycle times will be a deciding factor on when exactly to start tapering off. My genetics say 8-9 weeks seed to harvest. Now I also know that you said it will prob go longer, maybe 10 to 11 weeks... So when should I quit feeding if we knew for instance, that it was 10 weeks?

My sentiments exactly. It will make me money because I won't have to shell out $300 a month no more. That Is $300 that I can pay the mortgage with and purchase some new equipment with. I do have a few buddies that I will prob let get some too....

man I spent that a week... No lie. Between 1k and 1200 a month. I'm a zip a week guy usually. And that can go way up lol. You'll see after you grow, you'll at least double your habit. I've seen guys quadruple...
