if you are running a 4x8 that is 2k
each 1k will pull 1.5-2lbs
weight is dictated by light
less light = less weight
you can do what you are suggesting.....but I suggest.....dont set your expectations to high.....

I guess I thought that I could get more light out of my 600 with no glass in front of it, and on a light mover, cover more area, and be able to move closer to the plants for better penetration. Is it my setup, that you think will hurt me, or is it the fact that I am trying to cover to much area for even a light mover, and I will have underdeveloped bud because of it.? because I have seen many .....really experienced growers pull 1.5-2.5 off of a 1k in a 4x4
if your light is on a mover
half the area is not gettng light half the time
2 600's will get you a little over 1/3 more than a 1k because it is only 200 more watts than a 1k

the width isnt the problem
its the length
and each plant can only absorb as much electrical wavelength as available
more plants = less electricity to each
less plants = more electricity absorbed to each plant
the electricity isnt infinite
600w is only 600w
so devide that by how many plants
and that is how much per plant
and if it is on a mover
well then half that
because the plant is only getting full light part of the time
light movers work well for say vertical bare bulb side lighting....but not overhead

a light for your seedling setup needs at least 4 bulbs
and for veg you could use an 8 bulb setup
the flower 2 hps 600
just bring your space in and surround it with reflection
flat white paint has the highest reflectivity

But here is what I am prob gonna do. I am gonna purchase a new hid ballast. I only have 1 ballast and its being used in flower, but I have 2 hoods... This new ballast will run 400, 600, 1000 bulbs, AND its dimmable from 400 too 1050 or 1150, ... I could run my 600 mh bulb at 400 watts to start veg, and then when my flower is half way in(30 days), I switch out ballast, so my 600 is in veg, and my new ballast is in flower and running 1k... This is just the best I can come up with. Plus then I will have back up ballast for flower if any thing should ever happen. A new t5 light and this ballast cost roughly the same.. Just figure the ballast would be the better purchasing decision at this point.

you could always divide the space.....have a space just for veg and for flower

you just lift and drop into the flower bucket....
that way you can have both going at the same time
and 4 under a 1K...bushed will be serious...

so you veg for a certain time under the MH...and you keep topping......every time a shoot get 4 nodes you pop the top
then you transfer to flower...and drop a double trellis just for support...12" above the top and 12" above that....no scrogging

keep the 4 buckets under a 4x4 area
you could build a 4x8 framed room and split it in half......
and then use the tent for drying
clones can go on a little shelf in the corner somewhere

that would actually be ridiculously amazing

So you mean split the buckets up. 4 for veg and 4 for flower. 600 mh in veg and 1k in flower. And just move the net pots from veg to flower never having to move the buckets. I had thought about doing that in the beginning.

Well I don't think I have much choice. With a flip every 60 days, my plants veging 60 days should×4 fill out my 1K foot print right when flipped to flower. 8 plants veging 60 days after stretching in flower would have been more than £ probably could have handled...
On another note.... this runt is getting thick with good colas. I trimmed a Lil more under growth, and a couple spindly branches that were completely at the bottom with practically nothing on them... I yanked that shit. This is for me. I want good bud! So I am drying the spindly shit. Do I put it in a zip lock in the freezer after its dry till I want to make hash out of it?

Hey.. the 3 part veg you have been having me run. I looked on the back of the bottle to try to understand why u picked them concentrations. I couldn't find any thing with them numbers. How do you decide the mix you gave me? AND do I just scale that down to say 25% when I first start nutes on seedlings? We are just gonna use up this gh 3 part for veg, and my FNB for flower. When it's all gone then we probably try current culture. Anyway trying to understand gh 3 part nutes and more importantly, how you decide what 9th each your gonna add.
And third, will I always have to use calmag? I thought I was using it because of the properties in coco?

Yes I think it's time I understand nute concentrations and how changing one effects others, which can lock out others from what I think I have read.. I need some good non bulls hit as riches to read. If I'm correct, I can use pH to also target certain elements better. Being why th r you lower pH in fact lower from 6.1 to 5.8 ... Is that even close to correct?

when comparing say 8 bulb 52watt t5 ho to say a 600w mh, what would be the comparisons? Such as lumens, par, and difference in cost of electricity?
I notice that mh bulbs seem to be not as bright as say their hps counterpart. Does that mean that they are actually using less power than 600w? it all can get a little confusing.
And while browsing i keep reading about this cmh 315w lights. are you familiar with them. They advertise 600w output for 350w of true power draw. That seems really nice. Is it bullshit, or a good light. Just trying to understand lights, par, lumens, and electricity costs.
I also notice you know a lot about led lights. And you plan to use one, or already do.. I never notice you trying to push those light on me. any reason why? Are you not happy with your light at the moment, or just figure that the expense of a good led is just something i need to worry about down the road?
Either way, you know me,,, I always have questions, and am always trying to learn more... drying rack showed up, and I found a dark cool place in the basement for it. rh a little high between 70 and 75% but temps are about 77.
Best I can do. gonna pick up a circulating fan today to keep air moving around in the room. hopefully that will help with the rh.

I think that runt is gonna net me 56 to 70 grams. It just has a lot more branches with bigger cola and they are thicker. More dense. And they got 2 weeks to go still. From watching the other 2 plants and their flowering cycle, I am predicting as much yield from it as the other 2 combined almost. I am not setting my heart on it, just predicting from what I see. So we will see....

That was an awesome idea. I Never Thought About The Idea That I Could Make 2 Different ARANGMENTS With Different spacing.. Closer Together For veg, And Further Apart For flower. That is perfect Wish! That remedies just about all the problems.....
