and did you use a dimmer knob that might be wired wrong ?
Pretty sure its correct, remote works fine, dimmer works fine, seems to be pretty bright on high, but I havn't used the silicone lenses before.. they seem a little cloudy from the side.
I'll post a picture if I can convince my new PC to talk to my phone:sweating:

Can you measure the voltage an the current over each cob?

change the killawatt to read amps and let us know what that reading is.after that i would suggest talking the dimmer off and cap those leads and get a new watt reading.if it goes to 150-160w like it should your dimmer is bad or wired backwards or something.

Building a small setup now.

.53 Amps at wall
Taking the dimmer off is easy, I'll try that
stay tuned

Current to led's 1.44 A on a cheap meter. It will be a pain to do voltage now it's up.
I could be convinced to do it if you show me what will be gained.
I'm happy with it , just confused by the reading.

Here's a picture

If your cobs are actually seeing 1.44A then your killawatt is toast. At 1.44 and 36V that makes about 155W. But if you only measure .53A from the wall then something aint right again. With 110V mains that makes only 55W. Even with 240V mains you shouldn't be getting 1.44A at cobs. What did you measure those 0.53A with?

that light should be so bright your neighbors would call the fire dept because it looks like your windowsill area is on fire lol.gotta be the dimmer or your killawatt is toasted

Did it
300W Incandescent bulb on killowatt 288w 116v 2.4a
50 w 43.1w .36a

Guess the meter is ok

I'm curious what's going on here
but
It's doing what I want it to do
and
I have to take apart something that is working to figure it out....... low priority for now

I will figure it out and share

Hello everyone

that might work in veg but you are very light on your flower room intensity even if you use high amp drivers like 2100ma.what drivers did you plan to run? most of us use 1 cob per sq ft @ around 1400ma so if you bumped to 2100ma you could get away with 18inch spacing but for the 8 x 8 flower room you will need at least 40 cobs if not 50 to 60

Lots of good info in here for sure. A farmer friend has asked me to look into solving his lighting problems. The veg room is 11' x 20' and his flowering room is 20'x20'. When all lights are on the AC can not keep up. Any and all help would be great!

we need more info in order to help.you might want to post this question in the gow room a/c thread also.
total number of lights plus sizes and also size of ac would be helpfull.plus things are much different cooling rooms in arizona vs michigan

When I visited I found 1 mini split 2.5 ton, 100 AMP electrical panel, a collection of 600 and 1000 watt gas lights, and a 6 tube t5 cloner. The local lighting from china guy was in and offered 150 watt and 300 watt high bay led lamps with a 130 lumens/watt. I am not sure what they would do the dulux picture looks good? Also have been offered 6 Mars 320's or 16 Mars 160's am just not sure about this stuff. The 600 watt Spectrum King has also been in.
Or should I build him a solution?

You really shouldn't have more than 6000w of lights with a 2.5 ton ac and if ita a sealed room with propane co2 then 5000w is about max for that ac unit.

Plan on using hlg 240 1400

ok then if your planning to fill that entire spot with plants i would run 50 cobs min but it calls for 60-64. i think 50 will light it up real nice and be better than 3 x 1000w ime running cobs even softer than your plan.thats alot of coin i know but do what you can and just add more as you can afford to.with these numbers i would email jerry@kingbright,he has cobs, holders, heatsinks, and drivers.all you would need is some aluminum for your frames.

Yes the client know this and is why he is seeking LED solution up here in Canada we get 8 months of cold

I have calculated 66 cobs and figured I missed something am wondering if I suggested we split the room and installed 2 light movers traveling half the room each. Before I build I figure a good plan is in order
