let me guess..you start seedlings in OF? Something I would never do..but each to his own. How would you know if there's a hot spot that didn't get mixed well?
Anyway..starting seeds should be simple and easy..I like inert peat with tap for at least the first week or two.

If you have problems with ffof being too hot heres a tip.....start seedlings in reused dirt. But theres no problem with new ocean forest

that's a good tip for who-ever. Not a fan of it though. I tried it years ago in tap and saw more issues than I wanted to. Tap here's pretty bogus and glad to not use it besides cloning and popping seeds. I like to have total control over food and ph asap.
I bet maybe her seeds are junk and/or trying to add food and high ph..hard to say. Might have even drowned them..I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle of all that.

Feeding too soon and over watering are common. The ph is a bit off but not enough to lock plants
