Gg#4 Intersex Question

Top o' da morning to you all! As you may or may not know I am a first time grower that germinated GG#4 late summer of this year. I am using Urban Roots soil, mother nature's water and my personal love/devotion to my girl. It has been noted that gg#4 is known to be intersexed while flowering. I have been religiously taking newfound nanners out of my plant for the past week and a half. Today I found a small nanner that flowered on my girl :( . It was so tiny and not like the other large nanners i found and pluxked out. My question is, will this one minute nanner ruin my flowers and cause growth to stunt on my flowers? Attached is a picture of what i found. Any comment or help will be appreciated.

See all that pollen on your hand... if that pollen touches a bud.. youll likely get seeds in the bud. When a bud is pollinated it will stop using all its energy for flower production and start using some of that energy to make seeds.

K there are some issues. Gg#4 is a clone only so you couldn't have germinated a seed of it. If you don't know what clone only means look it up but if a strain has a (#) that means it's clone only and there are no seeds. Only way to get a gg4 seed is to self it. But then it wouldn't be gg4 it would be gg4 s1 which would be different than gg#4 original, but you could select a Pheno that best resembled the parent.

True gg4 is as stable of a plant as they come so if you were getting seeds on the clone only true gg4 that would mean your environment is way out of wack and the plant is extremely stressed.

Since it seems you have some random bag seed it could be from any number of things. Bad genes stressed plant poor environment light leaks it's a long list.

But to answer your question of if it pollinated will it ruin your bud? Two answers:
1) maybe
2)you got nanners so your bud is already ruined.

I've been running gg4 (authentic clone only cut) for over 4yrs now. Never found a seed or nanner, ever.

Yeah i thought as much....if it was found on the bottom nodes away from the top larger buds, will the top buds make seeds as well? Tjanks for the reply

Thanks for the answer, The seeds that i acquired were from a reputable seed company (elev8 seeds). I am aware of clones but in my state not yet available so i am at the mercy of seed companies. Your reply however was very informative and it seems that you have some experience breeding plants (something i ultimately want to do) so i will be following you and gaining valuable info from you. Its a crap shoot... it depends on how much air movement you have in the grow area... hell, pollen can travel miles and nail a female

They did a s1 of the original plant and that will bring out problems from the original plant that was worked. .. tons have people have s1 or crossed this plant... its been around for a while

This is one of the many top flowers that i have on my plant that is supposedly (now not so sure) of gorilla glue. covered with lil terps that i was hoping would get bigger...sucks that it might be ruined though. Ill keep you posted.

Think of pollen as sperm and pistols as female eggs. Wherever pollen fell or flew will and can get pollinated so you may get no seeds or it may pollinate the entire room there are a million possibilities. But one pic of of a pollen nanner in your hand doesn't tell us anything and no one here has a crystal ball ya know.

Now I'm not being rude but honest. Your bud will be "not good" already due to being a hermaphradite. So your fighting a lost battle already. And you only have potential to get worse not better.

You have a few options next round. Fix your grow environment so your plants won't turn herm.(if you haven't done this already do so) Or get better genetics for your next round. Now you won't know if it's a herm gene or not till you run it in a proper room but either way, if it was me I'd pull your plants right now chalk that up to a loss fix up my room then go buy a good clone. That has a track record and try again.

IMO pheno selection is not a great place for a beginner to start. Get a clone make a mother and master that strain, then try a new one, then buy a pack of seeds.

It took so long to write that I didn't see you couldn't get clones. So keep popping beans till you find what we call a "keeper"

Looks good!!! The terps are called trichs... hey you may get lucky and only find a couple seeds

Pop a bunch of seeds I like to do 30-50 all of one kind. You will tone that down probably but...
Label and number everyone. Ex; I pop 10 terps og I will label the first t.og #1 the second t.og#2 and so on.
Then let's say all 8 are ladies 2 males.
Take a clone or two off each female it's important to keep everything properly labeled!
Then once clones are rooted I'd flower either the clones or seeds.
Pull bad growth or structure plants look for herms to pull.
Then harvest dry and smoke.
Select the best one for you. And keep it as a mother then you could back cross the keeper with the better male and have a f2 assuming they were f1s to begin with.

gg4 herm'd on a few people in the original gg thread on imag before it was shit canned

it was a product of hermie, not a father. it will always carry / pass on this trait. chocolate trip herm'd like a mofo-

I've taken mine as long as 75 days and not a single nanner or bean. Yes, it's from an accidental hermie, but many have never had a hermie issue.

There's still a few og threads about gg4 on IC. Many still run her with no issues at all.
