CHICAGO — An Illinois veteran is asking a judge to reverse a state decision against adding post-traumatic stress disorder to the list of diseases eligible for medical marijuana treatment.

Daniel Paul Jabs filed the lawsuit Wednesday in Cook County Circuit Court. He has been diagnosed with PTSD, according to the court filing, and he filed a petition with the state's health department to add his condition to the eligible list.

He can get a diagnosis from a VA dr.
And take it to a civilian Dr. and he' should qualify. My experience with the state of Illinois and the VA has been a let down to say the least.

Since mj is still federally illegal, it's impossible for the VA (a federally funded program) to allow the legal medical use.of mj. My uncle who is a Vietnam name vet with Ptsd, is FORCED to take the VA cocktail or lose all his va bennies. I helped him a couple times and he tested positive on a ua. They told him once more and he is out. No va help, no check, nothing.

Big bro doesnt want its vets to be healthy, theyd have to pay disibility longer, plus they get cuts from big pharma and all the poisons they pump into em. And the poison meds cause other side effects that require more meds, CHA Ching...

The government makes more.money on shoving pills down ppl mouths vs allowing them.the mj option.

Very sad to say, since many gave their lives and many many yrs of their lives serving out country, only to be told you MUST take out pills or else lose everything

I understand that. But what I'm saying is in Illinois if you have a referral from a VA doctor and you take it to a civilian doctor you can get your card. DVA doctor has nothing to do with it except for saying this person could benefit from medical marijuana.

It would be a contradiction of federal law if the VA (since it's a federally funded program) allowed va use of med mj.

Same reason banks do not allow our money. Banks are federal.

Not trying to be a Debbie downer, but federal law trumps any and all laws the city, county, or state may make.

It's the reason I no longer help my uncle. He much preferres mj over the 10 pills a day he now takes.

I say...round up, collect, trade as many landrace, and heirloom seeds. Make as many seeds as you can of each, Cross everything with everything. Get'em out to people you trust...preserve it. And hide it from...you know...

Unfortunately greed is killing our population as fast a federal pigs... sad world brotha

In michigan, Ptsd is a qualifying condition. If your not part of the VA, your good to go. If you have to drop like my uncle does, or my former patient whonis a pain clinic patient (who also piss tests for anything other than the prescribed pills), It's grounds for being kicked out and losing the help.

That's exactly what I'm in the process of doing right now. I've been going to two different VA hospitals in the st. Louis area 4/12 years ago. I have walked out of there swearing at nurses almost on the verge of tears because I couldn't get any kind of help. Pull up pull an IV out of my arm and walked out of the hospital and my robe... Have you ever heard that phrase" the squeaky wheel gets the grease" all I know about the VA I go to is if you want something done you better go in there squeaking big time!

Ya brotha its fucked... they kinda voided all of our contracts when they gave us shit after care... they wouldnt have half the enlistment numbers telling the truth
People joined knowing they would serve their country and get treated right after(if) something happens. Its more like... go die for some oil executives and then get no care.. no nothin when you get home... ya.. i highly doubt the military would have the numbers they do if they told the truth.
