@Newtogrowing post your soil questions here with pics and someone will advise you within a couple hrs. Im just stupid when it comes to soil, but there is a few guys here that will see your post and help you... make sure post them pics here too for them to see... It is Sat so it might be a lil before ppl are up, esp on west coast where Wish is,,,,,,,

Hello all, here is a pic of a couple of leaves that started to change. I use fox farms soil. The plants are in 1 gallon pots. When I feed them they get RO water with 5mls of micro (jungle juice) 8 mls of jungle juice bloom and 5mls of cal-mag. The plants are 36 days old and are 42-43 inches tall. I only noticed this on one plant. They get fed when the pots are light and I only nute them every other feeding.

Good job on giving info! Im sure we hear something in a few hrs. And since your in soil a few hrs wont make no difference...

Might have to have me a sip of shine tonight! I dont really drink anymore but when its 70 in Feb then i think hells getting ready to freeze over so why not have a sip....

Here u go home team!!! I also have the real think my daughter lives in Tenn. I did open a bottle of the lower and its 105 proof. I bought 2 and one is signed by the distiller.

You know that the Popcorn Sutton"s they don't make that bottle anymore because they got sued by Jack Daniels for the bottle looking the same. lolol

Nice and simple line up. I'm assuming Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil. It's a pretty hot soil but at 36 days they hopefully used a decent amount of the food premixed in. Looks to me like that particular plant is beginning to experience some nutrient burn. A lot of upwards curling with little discoloration or chlorosis on that leaf in the first picture are the signs telling me over fertilization.

I'd probably *feed, water, water* that girl instead of *feed,water, feed* for now. And when you do water I'd probably water her a little bit extra to run out some of the excess fertilizer.

Thanks for the input broham!!! Will do.. I maybe gave it to much bloom. Should I flush the plant?

No prob man!
I'd probably just keep giving her plain water for a little bit and monitoring if the burn progresses. If that's the only leaf i'd stick with normal watering procedure albeit more plain water than fert. If there are lots of curling leaves all over the plant then I would definitely flush. I don't really like flushing soil but it can be done since you're using hydro nutrients.

See i would of been wrong! It looks like it needs ca, to me. But im really never experianced much def in hydro as long as i feed and ph properly...
See im a machine operator/engineer and i just look at the hydro system as a machine. I just keep it maintained. I have learned to look at my plants and see when they look a lil light. I up the ec. I kinda know where i can go safely. Any thing around 1.6 to 1.8 for my autos and about 2. for photos..
So im not the guy honestly that knows much about def.
I learn by watching your def and then watching Wisher explain to them. I cant honestly give someone advice in soil when i dont even grow in soil! Even tho i prob should since i see so many stub their toe right in the door... BUT ITS SO DIRTY!!!!

I'm wondering where you got 5mls of cal-mag / gallon. Is that what is says on the bottle? I add cal-mag first and don't go by ml/gal. I add until my water comes up to .4 ec. For my water it takes about 1.4 ml/gal to reach point 4. If I added 5ml/gal I would be way overdoing it. Of course I don't use ro water, so it may take a lot more for you. Just a thought.

I don't think you're wrong about the cal but FFOF with oyster shell +calmag should be more than enough cal. I think there are just too many salts in his soil right now for uptake. I hear you the only reason I feel comfortable making soil calls is because most of my previous runs were organic soil, making my own mixes for my small outdoor beds and indoors, compost teas, etc so I've got a wide range of exp to offer in that sense since I do coco now(hydro) as well. Its all so fun!

Excellent point to bring up. I don't know why I missed that. Guess I still need my coffee. Now that I think about it if Jungle Juice has the same ratios as GH 3 part bloom & micro then calmag probably isn't even needed.

Its calls for a teaspoon per gallon. Thats 5mLs.
