I really like the way this forum is organized, it helps people in knowing which beans to buy. There are so many seed companies out there now that its almost impossible to choose if your on a tight budget.

Anyhow, I recently decided to trial some Exotic Genetix after seeing numerous people finding dankness. First up is the Kimbo Kush. I've started 5 seeds and each came up. They have been a bit neglected, now I've transplanted and they're growing better now. I should flip in about 2-3 weeks.

Thanks MZ, just noticed the pale girl on the front left in the pic spitting out a couple hairs between the nodes..:) they are liking there new home too. BTW they are 33 days from dropping seeds in the soil today.

So I have at least 3 females so far. The other could go either way, looks female though. Here is a pic from today. They will go into flower about a week from today, I can't wait..

Exotic is good peeps, I'd pick any pack of his and find fire.

I know right, I'd been looking for something really good to grow, and it seems like your really can't go wrong with Exotic. Have you ran there strains?

Also wanted to add, they are in 3 gal pots of recycled organic soil. They're nice and perky now that I stopped overwatering them.:cool:

When I had my mmj card I used to pick up from exotic.

And I tell you everything he made was straight fire. I mean top notch cup winning shit.

So from then on out I have dedicated the most space in my seed vault to his genetix.

But I haven't popped them yet. Saving them for later. Using up the freebies and cheap stuff first.

Alrighty fellas, just took cuttings of each of the Kimbo, and they will be going into flowering tomorrow or the next day. They went from being stunted and discolored in the first pic to the most healthy color green right now. I've just started using Real Growers Recharge, and the whole garden seems to love it.

I'll get some good pics when I transplant and flip to flower...

Alright fellas, here we go Day 1 of flowering. Just transplanted into an organic coco based soil mix lightly amended with some 6-8-4 buds and blooms, worm castings, and dusted the roots with myco, and it begins. 5.5 gal containers.
I can't believe I still have 6 seeds left.. The 4 kimbos in front.

Small girls, but I'm guessing they will explode with growth in the coming weeks.

These girls will be grown under Cree Cobs. I'm upgrading this fixture later this week from 420 watts to 640 watts. Just changing out the drivers, to see if I can gain some yield.

Looking good. Let me ask you a question if I may please? Why transplant these gals and then immediately flip?

This is just my opinion...but I urge you to at least wait a week. Let the plants spend their time growing roots in their new homes..then when you flip she can you their all.

This is a good point, I've been transplanting right before flip because I've been flowering in 10 gal containers. I can't fit the containers in my veg space, so I just transplant into the flower room. My veg space is a double stack so 2 levels of 2x4' trays.

This is one reason I'm trialing the coco mix in smaller containers, so I can transplant, then more veg, then flip. The ceiling height in the flower is only 7.5 feet too. Shouldn't be a problem for the Indica dom Kimbo, but Sativa dom strains need special attention.

I've flowered gals that were definitely in pots too small for their size, yet finished just fine, and actually yielded better than those I had just repotted. I have a couple kimbos now flowering in pots slightly too small. But you're looking good either way. I'm curious to see how these f2's fair. ✌

I run a lot of Exotic gear and same as Tex transplant into final containers at flip for same reasons... once into 7-10 gal pots they are too heavy to move and my VEG room and flower room are in different locations. I would prefer to VEG in final containers and sometimes do but it's a pain in the ass to move a 2' tall plant in a 10gal container.. I grow in 100% organic soil so a 10gal pot is like 80-90#s... plus a plant.

I VEG in #2 nursery pots and transplant at 15" and into flower. My last run of Kimbo they were right up the lights (LEDs) at harvest time and I have a 7.5" ceiling as well.

Tex - try the VERO29 cobs... I just bought 2 sets of 3 and am running them now getting HUGE frost on my The Future run. 3 of the VERO 29s are like 300watts, I just ordered 2 more sets of 3 each.

This makes sense. I'll veg them for longer next time, and if I like the 5.5 gal container with coco, I will just start vegging them in their flowering container. Running organic is a little different because nutrient spikes and top dressing can only go so far.

I would put them back in the veg, but I don't want to mess up my schedule. I flip plants every 3 weeks, which gives me about a 6-7 week veg, and 8-9 weeks flowering.

Our setup sounds really similar, and yes those 10 gals with wet soil is a bitch to move. lol
Where did you get the Vero 29s? I've been eyeing them for a couple months, are they supposed to be more efficient than the 3590s? What color did you go with 3500k?

Those Future lookin really good. Is this your seed run? Are they looking to yield on the heavy side?

3500k yes and are the latest greatest, they are very efficient.

I got the 3 Vero29s already assembled - it was $50 more to get assembled version. This is a 400watt lamp not 300 sorry!

Like I said yeah they are very nice... lower down buddage fans have rails ... rails to the soil line from 6' off ground.. 15" from tops of plants. Dan at Timber has this dialed in with science bro no BS.

On the organic deal, re;
"Running organic is a little different because nutrient spikes and top dressing can only go so far."

I don't use spikes and top dress only at flip which is when I transplant... gets more soil due to lager pot. I actually re-cycle my soil. I run organic soil home made "Coots" style (recipe).
Been running it for years. I don't spend any money on "nutrients" .... build my own vermi-compost.. get base nutrients in bulk for pennies/lb. The most expensive thing is Pearl-lite @ $35 for a 3 cu. ft. bag (fits in a trash can). I just mixed up 6ish cubic feet of soil.... with all organic amendments that last the whole run + , probably cost me $15....

Yields:
I will get usually 4 zips dry per plant if it's a heavy yielder like the Kimbo I got 8 zips per plant dried but they were monsters like 2x the size of The Future I pictured.

Here's my Kimbo from last fall... these were big yielders and fire!
