A 150 watt hps was my first grow light. just a normal security light. I had good results from it too.
a buddy let me borrow his (150w hps) so I had two lights. 6 plants in a 4x4 area, got 9 oz.

Ok so its basiclly when i change the light sched to 12/12 that theyll flower? I dont need LED lights or that red light in paticular?

Yes changing to 12/12 initiates flowering...but the 12 hours or more of darkness is the flower power...lol I use a 11/13.
You haven't mentioned any other light...? But having additional light with that 150 would help.
You mentioned LED so it would not add much heat...and depending on wattage per say, would be the deciding factor if it would be worth having as extra lighting. red spectrum in flower is prefered. blue spectrum would not hurt. it's all good.
And if you can add light (no wimpy ones) of any grow type and keep your temp/hum in check...do it.
I like a mixed spectrum. hps/mh, Led...red/blue/white. CFLs...If you have em use em...lol.
And a mid range wattage is my preference for HIDs 400w or 2 -150s. 300-600w LEDs. 80-125w CFL.

Nope.. it's the period of darkness that causes flower.. leds are nice for fine tuning spectrum but not necessary. Kind LED K5 xl750 for flower here.. soon to add a k5 1000 in tent as well.

I know it's really tough to see in this pic.. but this Vortex was flipped last week and has started her stretch and is getting frosty already. Doesn't take long once you flip 12/12... just make sure they have total darkness

You're good bro.. :)

Only thing, just in my personal opinion, FFOF runs a bit hot, not to say it's not a good media, cuz it's okay, but I'm running Ffhf. A bit milder I guess. Roots is good too.. but if you started them in the OF, they should be fine

Yeaa mann thats what i keep hearing and reading about so ima try happy frog next or coco maybe even try an make some super soil (so i dont worry bout nutes)... but my fault was adding nutes too early so i feel like i stunted their growth ina way, well for the green crack really cuz the king louis has been good since i stopd the nutes...
