I'm planning to make a batch of edibles for 4/20.

So far it's for me and 2 friends.

The wife has a stoner friend she told about my personal plan to make treats. And he expressed his interest in them.

She made sure to give him the disclaimer that I like all my meds heavy duty. To which he replied scoffingly "I know how to handle myself". He has no idea :cry::cry:

My friend is a lightweight and I also gave him the disclaimer. But I'm planning on saving him a piece

Now...
I just extracted 7.45g of oil from my harvest trim. This is what I plan to utilize.

So far I'm planning to utilize 7g for 1 batch of something with 4 portions.
This would put each edible at 1.75g oil (approx 9g of estimated flower).

This state is hostile still. So street prices are high. Quality is low. And oil seems to be very very rare (almost unknown here) or just among select people like me.

So each edible should be able to shut down any heavy smoker here locally. While lasting many hours.

Each edible will be equivalent to $100 worth of herb (quarters here are between $90-$100 on the street).

Now this is a personal batch.
Made with extra love and care.
2 portions are reserved for me and my friend.

The other 1-2 we're requested by my wife's friend who offered to cover costs for his.

Now... It's hard to convince someone to cough up $100 bucks for each edible to cover costs.

It is easy to convince them that the more is inside the stronger they will be. But it's hard to convince them the experience is worth $100. They could buy a quarter and smoke for days instead of a 1 time experience.

If you worked a $9hr job for one 8hr workday you would make $72 before taxes. So for some it's unreasonable to buy a $100 edible.

Now it is presumed I'm a normal guy who buys my cannabis off the street.
It would seem very fishy if I offered these perceived $100 edibles to this guy for a highly discounted rate.

In Washington I'd move grams of oil for $40. By that logic the treats would be $70 each. Local oil prices are $60g so that would make them $105 treats lol.

I know these treats will destroy this dude. I just need to figure out a reasonable price point.

Reducing the strength is not an option :badboy:

Hey man, been meaning to ask u.....u sed u got 11 zips from ur last harvest. ...? What kinda light was that under?
Im also curious as to why ur doin all the plant training and bending? Is it purely for fun? Height restrictions?

So the training is done to maximize my useable space (yield).

I have 2 tents but 3 chambers.

My main tents main flowering chamber is 2x2x5 with 400 watt hid & two supplemental 15 watt led bulbs (interchangeable 2700k/5000k)
20170412 123012

"30 is the useable space from the floor to the heat buffer zone under the hid.
The beast and the 3 accent plants were in this chamber total yield in this chamber was 7oz.

The lower chamber is 2x2x1
20170412 122836

Has a 12 bulb HO T5 fixture.
Vertical height from floor to light is "11. The 5 gallon pot is "5 tall. leaving "6 usable height.
Yielded 2.64oz here with the beast clone.

Then my 2nd tent is 2x1.5x2.
20170412 122001

It has an 8 bulb HO T5. "18 vertical height from floor to light fixture.
Had to turn off 4 bulbs last round cause of toasted tops (stretched too much, I had to supercrop). Need to find a better fitting pot for the space with larger soil volume that rides lower.
Yielded 1.45oz in this space with #3 plant

So the training is mostly for height limitations trying to maximize yields.
And secondly to increase the ratio of high quality tops to other flower site's.

The beast was %65 tops by total weight.

The beast clone was %85 tops by total weight.

#3 was %83 tops by total weight.

my goal (increased ratio of tops:lowers) seems to have worked out well.

Now that my trim has been drying long enough. Today is the day to turn it into oil.
View attachment 689912

I didn't weigh the trim this time. Mostly because it usually yields %10-%15. Not worth calculating.

But it was about 2 full quart mason jars full from all the plants.

Was a good amount so I expect a decent recovery here.

I had to iso wash my silicone pan. The last batch was the sludge. Gotta preserve the taste of that good good.

My next oil batch will be the smalls of the beast, clone & #3. It will be a mixed batch.

For now the trim will hold me over for a while.
How long do you have to let the trim dry before you decarboxylate it for oil?

The worst that used to happen to me was that I would get too relaxed and sleepy.

I will consider cutting the batch into more pieces. 8 pieces would bring the total to .875g oil per edible (4.375g flower equivalent).

If I do 16 pieces that's .4375g of oil per edible (2.18g flower equivalent)

That would bring dudes prices down.
And reduce his chance of a freak out lol. If it doesn't work for him I blame you guys :badboy:

I have been using 2 gr. of full melt bubble hash for ten peanut butter cookies and i find them quite powerful. You my friend have a tolerance that is off the charts.

It's me who has the high tolerance. Seems to always gravitate up there.

My happiest memories where when I used to split (2) .5g hash oil capsules throughout each day.

As for edibles I want something I will remember for a long time. It's far and few between that I make them.

edibles seem to have a tolerance factor that i don't see with smoking.I like them for sleep & would rather dab & blunt during the day.
I tried rendering a quart of buds in ever clear and ended up with light brown powder 2 days later when it evaporated but ran out of alcohol to run it threw again. I figured it would turn out like wax not sure what happened but it smokes good.

Tomorrow is my first day back to work.

It is a trial run for me and my boss.
It's gonna be easy work. Will be tomorrow and maybe Monday then go from there.

If I'm feeling good I'll get worked back into the schedule. If not I'll have to ride the bench again.

So this will be the big test guys.
I've lost 30lbs of muscle since surgery and it's my first day tomorrow

Getting back into the swing of things will be the hardest part.:dead:

Wish me luck

I'm here waiting for the boss to show up.

I haven't had to wake up this early since before the surgery.

I am pretty nervous.
I've lost 30lbs of conditioning.
I know even though today may be "easy work". What is easy work in construction lol. I'm not conditioned to being on my feet all day either.

In a way I feel great.
I love working and

I hope it goes well :)

I wrote that^^^ this morning waiting for my shift to start but never posted it.

The workday is done and I'm feeling confident.

I was doing punch list work today.
Caulking and painting door Jambs.
Rolling out a big ceiling. And began touching up the walls.

Was working by myself. I started out slow and nervous from a lacking confidence in my skills. Because my body and mind we're rusty.

Once I was reaccustomed to my tools and the job. My confidence and skills came right back :)

I will say that the 1/2 Vicodin before work lasted me all workday long and even now. It made things much easier for me.

Now I'm excited. The fire burns inside to return to what I love to do.
I know its unusual to hear, but as my workday progresses I become happier and happier. Until I am enjoying what I do so much I lose track of time and stay an hour over quitting time

I feel worn out for the first time in 6 months from activity. The work wasn't difficult. My body is just weak now. Today was the first step of getting it all back.

Im gonna have to push hard to get all my muscle weight back. Everytime I resume activity after a period of inactivity. I drop 10-15lbs while my body consumes it's fat. Then slowly month by month I gain small increments of muscle.

So to prepare for this. On the initial day you must stay fed with good food.
My breakfast was a protein shake.
My lunch had greek yogurt, salmon, jar of peaches, honey & oat bars. Drink was water.

I'm on the verge of falling asleep where I lay at home. I know I need to eat but the urge to fall asleep is overwhelming. I guess it's time for a shower then. Maybe a quick protein shake.

Thanks guys. It feels great to be back at it.

But shoot the day after my first day of physical activity after 7 months I am drained and sore all over.

I'm glad we get today off.
My body needs food, rest and recovery time. Gonna get up and eat a protein shake first thing.

Yesterday I got home from work. And was so tired I couldn't do anything. Ended up passing out on the living room floor. Woke up at 8pm then went to bed, no food, smoke or anything.

It is gonna be rough starting from zero again. I've done it many times after long winters. Just takes motivation , dedication & loyalty.
Last year it was 6 months work it took to get from 155 to 175lbs (mar-sep).

Here was a snippet of last year's fitbit weekly calorie burn logs.
20160813 220005

Wish me luck. Hitting those kinds of calorie burns each day is hard in my current condition.
