Sorry I missed your first post @guymandude

I appreciate your opinion and input too.

I'd like to play devils advocate here and provide some food for thought/conversation.

It's important to remember that it's not possible in some/all cases to provide just a single nutrient in a solution. Most are compounded elements like Potassium Sulfate, Potassium Silicate, Magnesium Sulfate, Magnesium Nitrate, etc.

I notice carbohydrates in some/most of the popular bloom "boosters." Sugars in fertilization of other crops is an unresearched area, but I will get to it in due time. I would argue this is an important part of the solution, otherwise why would it be there other than because it provides a benefit to resin and reproductive production or to throw off people like is trying to decipher recipes.

Now, returning to my first paragraph.
Could Magnesium be the critical factor in these solutions, and sulfur the only elemental copilot that can fluctuate without significant imbalance and stress on uptake?
Or...
Is sulfur really the critical factor in these solutions, and Magnesium is the only elemental co-pilot that can fluctuate without significant imbalance and stress on uptake?
Possibly...
It's both?

Assuming no trickery on the fertilizer companies part. They would only add these inputs because the plant benefits from it.

Thanks!

Assuming no trickery ....

Awesome thread, guys. I'm soaking in all the jack's info I can. Thanks to all the major players who've contributed.

anybody have a good idea on lowering nitrogen levels while also raising Calcium levels? my sour diesels want more calcium and less nitrogen.. hard to accomplish with calcium nitrate being the main source of both. any ideas farmers?

Maybe amend your medium with gypsum.

so I have a total of zero experience amending soils.. would this be a viable solution for a drain to waste system in 80/20 coco/perlite? also, my cal deficiency/nitrogen burn doesn't show up until about the 4th week of flower, would the gypsum still be available to the plant after its spent about 6-7 weeks in the same pot? (I go from clone to a 1.7 gallon pot for 2-3 weeks veg and then finish in the same pot)

I'm certainly no expert so take this with a grain of salt. Sounds like you should foliar spray with calcium around week 3 in anticipation of the deficiencybin week 4.

Calcium EDTA (Dissolvine), CaCl2 (Pickle Crisp), Or 1 cup per cubic ft of CaSo4, seem to be the best options

Does anyone have anything to say about
MB Ferts Carb Load. I've used it and didn't know enough about it to probably use it correctly
What it improves?
Grams per gallon?
When to use ?
I'm also looking for a low cost product for improving taste. I use jacks and all the other things discuses in this thread.
Big Thanks to Cap and everyone else Much respect
One more thing. I need a good low cost product
For rooting clones ( I tried honey No good results )

Something with sulpher to increase taste, sticking the cuts in a cup of water on the window sill always worked for me.

I found a rooting powder at ace hardware for $7

Hello everyone. This is a great thread. Not sure if this was mentioned here but Grow more is making a 5-11-26 Hydro formula pretty much the same as Jack's. Anyone on the West coast should be able to find locally and save on shipping.

i am trying to keep some mom plants i use 3-2-1 in PROMIX HP is there anything else i can use to promote micro biological growth in the soil. everything else i run is flood and drain

Using Jacks has been good for me except some yellowing when i switch to half the amount and use my home made MOAB i really think I'm bringing too much K in to early at week 4
What do you guys think

Might not be too much K even though you are pushing the limits by adding MOAB. I'd have to guess without looking at the numbers but I'd say you are probably not feeding enough Nitrogen, Calcium, and Magnesium when you cut the formula in half at week 4. If you cut the formula down it might be better to wait a bit longer in the cycle- like week 6-7.

Im using advanced nutrients ph perfect trio micro grow and bloom along with earth juice cal-mag and I just purchased some Microbe brew from fox farm. I'm also using a 2 gallon reservoir with air stone. In what order should nutrients be mix for best results..
Cal mag first, then micro, grow, bloom, stirring inbetween.
