Nice one man! Coming through for R!
I really like the idea of setting up an automated drip system and waiting to flip so they finish while away. I was about to suggest it before reading about how the plant is growing to fast for that. I also assume trimming her back for the extra needed time would just destroy the FOC's beauty.
My recent run I actually let my plants dry in the tent with no circulation. I just opened the door flap every day or so to check on them and let some humidity out. I left the bottom flaps open too. This extended my dry to almost 14 days(on purpose) or I would have gotten 7 so I can attest this works well. Now coupled with that titan controller I think Events idea should be perfect while you're gone.
Essentially if you maintain the correct humidity you could even cure in the tent right?
This round I set it up where the 20 gallon pot had a full new fresh bag of roots organic potting soil at the bottom. The top was filled with my ROLS.
I timed it so that once her roots reached that fresh media she would explode with new growth. And it would help me minimize fertilizer inputs this round.
If I were to wait longer she would consume all that fresh media in veg and it would not sustain her through the potential 11 weeks of flower. Causing me to raise inputs (which is not what I had engineered for this rounds experiment).
So to best keep my engineering most closely in check to monitor results most accurately. I had to flip now.
Plus like
@justiceman said. It would change The guided shape and end result of the F.O.C. training. This is the point of time where all the vertical branches thicken/stiffen up to support their own weight.
If I for example topped them all. The new branches growing out would be smaller and weaker, growing smaller buds from the smaller possible flow of nutrients through the smaller stems.
My best bet is to flip yesterday, go the full 11 weeks. Water the plant the final day before harvest. Hang dry whole in the tent with the humidstat connected to the exhaust fan.
The only problem with this idea is that when the humidstat stops running my apt will wreak from lack of carbon filtration :speechless:
I may get busted while I'm gone for 3 weeks....
I'm starting to think this idea may not be the most ideal
Worst case scenario I will just run the tent at idle while gone and if overdry when I return then oh well.
Maybe I can fully saturate the 20 gallon pot before I go to help keep humidity in the tent more sustained for a longer period of time.
