I want the 600 to be vented but it might be more effective to just increase my cooling capacity a little and leave it open.. the 315's will be open.

They are looking great at the moment. About to use that training technique tomorrow or the next day when they finally reach 1' tall. Then give them one more week to recover and flip (fingers crossed)...

my experiance tells me it is easier and cheaper,
with a deff impact on environmental stability.
to vent the hoods seperatly...
Im able to get down to 73 degree's lights on with my hoods vented...
Thats awesome cooling control!
And its only gonna get easier as it gets colder plus free heat upstairs :)

My vented 400w puts my room at exactly 80/81 with just an oscillating fan blowing on it, still pretty damn hot over here.. It would be a pain to fit 3 vented hoods in my 4x8 tent and honestly not sure if there would be enough space for the 315's if I vented my one hps light.. the ducting takes up a lot of space and I have my inline fan literally mounted to the light..

I would run all them in hoods... 3 will fit..
Get you sun system hoods for about $60

I'll think about it, I'm pretty set on open hoods though.. It just sounds so simple and easy plus I'm not good at keeping the glass clean haha.. I kinda wanted to upgrade my a/c anyways so I could get it on the 220 circuit and reduce my 110 load..

Morning bros. Did some weaving. Wrapping the longest stems around the perimeter of the net has been the prudent move here... it gets better than this lol

I soooo understand! I did the same thing.. Ask Wisher!
I had a vented hood to start out with just 1 600 mh/hps
I then bought a dimmable 400 to 1050 watt ballast,
and 2 OPEN AIR BATWINGS..
And I ran 3 runs with them.. They worked great.. but i used them in a room 10x12... more room for the heat to dissipate...
But I went with hoods this time because it was 88 in there with the hoods open.
my ac could not get it any lower. then i added the led and it went to 90 WITH AC! But now that I am vented, I can get down to 72-73 LIGHTS ON!
Thats soo nice.. Foxtailed airy bud sucks esp on the market...
So the biggest reason to run vented was to seriously control canopy temps from week 3 flower to harvest... And its working marvelously!
But its good for you to go thru the same transission as I did, because its all
part of the learning process... We learn most by mistakes..
And like you said, if you can upgrade the ac to hit 75 consistently then
thats all that matters... I be watching with you to see...
