Here is the problem with that philosophy. U said it may ne a bit more heat..
A bit more heat takes 300 bud and makes it 150 bud.. 5 degrees thats all it takes...
Experianced growers ahould preach more about temps!
They are the differeance between mediocrity...
And thinking well we can build a swamp cooler..
When i invest money i do it luke the mob loaned it too me.
I dont invest in maybe and hopefullys..

I totally agree about heat affecting quality. I just kind of think your underestimating the heat from the t5's a bit, 300watts of t5 is still going to put out a decent amount of heat.. But yea if his temps are at the point where a 400w will push him over the edge of being too hot i def recommend against it. Like i said just trying to work out the best gear for him.

Swamp coolers can be pretty dang effective if you live somewhere with 20-40% humidity. Can drop temps a solid 5+ degrees. Bout to make one for my veg tent to keep humidity up.

That's just with the tent running for now. The led shuts off at 12:00pm for its 18/6 currently.

So its 73 with the lights off..? thats not good maybe t5 is the way to go.. or just do a ton of research and save save save for the DIY cob leds..

No the LEDs were on when I took those readings. They're about to turn off in one min :)

I apologise.
After reading that back i see its seems a lil abrasive..
I guess that not only am i trying to share growing knowledge with you, but also steps to move you forward with a clear cut plan on what to do to get there. Im trying to share with you the mentality that goes along with being a successful grower too.
It matters...

Ya close. It's lights on at 7pm to 7am for me. Just a judgement call
Oh that fine!
Materfact ive used that schedule too so i could see them before i left for work in the morning...
That was when i used to just set and stare at them 24/7
I grew out of that with in a few months. Niw i check on them at lights on and thats about it...

Lights off dont matter as long as its above 60 and lower than 80

oh well 73 with lights on thats not bad at all honestly..

I apologise.

All good bro i don't take offense easily haha, i hope nothing I'm saying is coming off too strong or anything either. I'm glad your doing that because its a learning process for me as well, say i wanted to set my buddy up on a little grow this knowledge will definitely come in handy.

I want 300 bud! Not 150 bud! :)
So how hot is too hot? What is the ideal temp?

Ya i know them t5 do put off some heat..
And i said a 400 mh/hps would be good. If joey is gonna let him get a fan.
So he can afford it.
I wish he had some fem seeds so we could get him a quick harvest..
After the first harvest everybody does 10x better...

For sure. If ill gets there law passed im gonna set up my daughter with a lil grow. Dwc and a 400..
It would be just personal meds for her..

Was just saying if its already 73 at lights off then with lights on obviously it would be higher than that which would def be bad with hid.. was trying to find what his base temps are..
He really cant cool or handle over 400 watts of heat.

100000%. I only recommend 400 hid IF temps can be controlled. Not kinda controlled. Lol. But I beleive a passive intake with a good can fan will do it IF his temps around the temp can be controlled. If you fluctuate up into the 80s where your tent is then it might not work.

yea i definitely agree that 400w would be the max he should go without some form of mechanical cooling..

thats exactly what id make my buddy get haha...

I don't let my temps sway from73-77. Unless I let it go a lil cooler late flower

I would say 76 degrees for flower weeks 6789 without c02
And prob 79 to 81 with c02 in flower weeks 789
Well week 8 and 9 i dropped it to 72-75
And my rh is at 45 which has it running hard core which ups my temp from 72 to 75.
So as you can see i need about 2ooo btu more to handle the heat from the dehuey when i lower it under 50.
Plus im gonna be getting a tankless water heater for c02 and that will require prob another 1000 btu...
So i need to upgrade my window ac one day.
I wonder what the smallest minisplit is?

What if i completely just closed up my tent, and put the tankless waterheater and the minisplit indoor unit inside the tent. And just run the fan and filter in the room the closed up tent is in?
I mean you would have perfect control!
But how do u dehuey and humidify it with out putting anything in the tent.
I guess i could diy hoses from the dehuey and huey.
