yup
the heat mat raises the humidity in the dome
that auto cloner is a different deal
I've used an aeroponic cloner for years with 99% success. 5-10 days and all rooted.
I just started using rapid rooters. And a dome/tray. It's much easier than the cloner. I just need to up my success rate. I will try your way next. Thanks again for sharing your wisdom!

no I just went out to the local hydro and picked up a $5 cut tray/dome combo
$10 worth Rockwool cubes
and this is the most important
I mix 1/2 strength nutrients and soak my rockwool cubes
then dip my cuts in Rx Green Solution rooting gel *best I have ever used*
spray the clones and half all leaves put the dome on
put the heating mat on
lower the light and call it a day
once a day I will spray the clones with RO water
and when the cubes start to dry
I hit them with half strength nutes ( mixed with +life)
Is rockwool the best. I've heard negitive things about rockwool.
Probably just from people who used it wrong tho. Lol

I find my cloner so easy, I literally leave it for 2 weeks and come back and everything is all rooted.. lol. the only one thing i do occasionally is spray them with RO water to keep humidity up a bit but once i get a humidifier or build a swamp cooler i won't even have to look at them for 2 weeks.. thats been my experience with it at least.

Edit: if i completely filled the whole 24 sites with clones it might run out of water after 10 days or so though so might have to check sooner the more clones you take..

That's what I like the most about my cloner. Set it up and walk away.
It just takes more time setting it up. Cleaning it. Etc.
The down side was when I lost power.

well the cleaning is pretty easy, as easy as cleaning a rooter tray almost (my cloner is pretty small).. But yea loosing power would suck if you had cloners, i loose power occasionally but it has never been more than an hour or 2.. Hopefully the next big quake doesn't knock out our power when i have clones going :opps:

Edit: just letting everyone know I'm not knocking the rock wool + dome at all, obviously thats a proven method and works great too.. Just trying to share what i had success with and I'm a straight newbie at cloning haha..

This is the best success I've had with a cloner. This is 5 days. I was using some stuff from Advanced Nutrients. I don't remember what it was. I wish I did.

When that fault ruptures, I think your cloners will be the last of your guys worries!
And im not talking about the San Andreas fault either.
Im talking the tectonic plates off Portland And Seattle's coast..
Heard Cali is gonna be come a sanctuary state.. lol
Wonder if each have to do with each other..
Trick the lambs into moving right next to worlds next 200 million yr catastrophe and huge loss of life event...

So @Wisher619 think im just gonna make a few changes.
Im gonna run my 3x3 tent with coco plants sog.

And im just gonna run my 2 air cooled hoods in my 4x8 tent.
I can run them at 600 a piece, and ramp it up to 1k a piece in weeks 4567.
That would allow me a quick harvest(s)with the 3x3 tent,
while allowing me as much time as I want doing a scrog the proper way
in my 4x8 with my 6 bucket UC system..
I get the best of both worlds..
SOG and SCROG..
Plus should be fun to try to maximize yield in a lil 3x3 tent.

@Wisher619 Do you know any links or tutorials on SOG that gets right down to the meat of trimming for single apical colas.. I have read a lot but they never really provide pics of the veg and what trimming..

Here is where im getting hung up at..
They say trim all branches..
But if i trim all branches at every node,
isnt that the bud sites..
Or is this what happens,,,

Or if I trim every branch away, for bottom 5 nodes, flip to flower,
and it just stacks nodes that dont branch, but just produce bud sites?

With that thinking, I would want to grow about 7 nodes, trim any branches below, flip and let her go?

so you would trim every branch and leave the top 2-3 nodes at flip
then your plant will stretch and just grow tops......
I will semi do that with this run so you see what I am talking about

Awesome.. I want (1)18 inch apical cola every 1/2 gal pot
36 pots in a 3x3..
These plants I just grew got some pretty big colas.
Im thinking they are perfect for this.
So 36 clones from exact same pheno..
It says this method is mainly for clones because of the way they stack nodes.. And the way they will take off when put straight into flowering a week after root..
Im guessing the clones are the same age as the mother,
and are somehow more mature ?
All I know is Im ready!!!!
I need that timer Joey2fingers!

I know! I forgot when I went in the shop. Need to go get it tomorrow. Hahah.

I'm glad you're doing this because when I find my phenos I like I plan on doing pretty much the same. Except maybe 2 strains. One in each 4x4 under a gavita each.
