Just forget the quantum board lights..
Just stick to explaining cobs so i dont get confused..
so Cobs are a small puck with a bunch of diodes
when powered it gives off a very diffused light because it is just throwing light

but you can differ degree reflectors to direct the light

with the quantum

think of it as a huge spread out cob
they make lenses which do something similar to COB reflectors
it directs light

Spectrum King
Quantum
Chiled
are all boards with diodes
but with good diodes
SK and Chiled having really high end diodes as well as IR and UVa
they have really good hear sinks which diffuse heat well and both come with reflector/lense directing light from 120-60 degrees

then you look at the watts and a that are driving the led
lower a like fromm 700ma-1600ma/.7a-1.6a are gonna put out very efficient light
higher wont be as efficient but will have greater penetration
my cobs are ran @ 2.1a
I am running 1 driver per 2 cobs
giving me a total of 350w

I can actually extend that as each driver can run 3 cobs

unless you really know about all this stuff it is much easier to just purchase a premade led
say like timber

for super highend Chiled
for super high end Greens BML
there are others as well
Amare is one off the top of my head

that is a good light
super solid
whos is that

not sure what you mean

the dude is just talking about building a COB setup with Vero
Not as good as cree but still good
much better than any CLW or Blackdog etc
ok now im starting to catch on..
By the end of this weekend
you will think i worked for a led company!
Can i use a mix of vero cobs and cree?
Like 600 watts of cree and 600 watts of vero all mounted same distance?

yeah but it wouldnt make much sense

just go all cree or Vero or Bridglux

usually you wanna just go with 1

see they all have differ capacities and Fv
so cree run 37 Fv Vero Something like 45Fv
etc...which restricts or opens up how many you can run per driver

I think the best bargain is Timber
prebuilt

or Cutter Growmau5 DIY

just hang and run

Right i would run the cree on its own drivers and the vero on thier own drivers...
The reason im asking that, is because i thought about buying that light i posted then building another one exactly like it with vero cobs.
But i make it where i got a row of cree then a row of vero and etc...
I could esentially get everything (1200) watts worth for $1300

I could buy this light below, then build another one just like it but buy vero cobs.
the make it where its a row of cree and a row of veros each on thier own driver,
im not for sure but maybe even change the spectrum with the vero's at like 3000k
but thats why im asking

I run a 90degree lens

Sorry bro I don’t mean to correct you and I’m not even sure if I’m right, I just want to make sure I’m not confused.. Do you mean 90 degree reflectors? (Reflector = White/silver round shield vs lense = glass bubble/dome)
Is your light a diy? Or prefab?

What you should do instead of running different brand leds together is maybe run a couple different kelvin of the same brand... example: run some 3000k & some 2000k Crees..

Edit: i think I kind of missed the point of your question.. I personally would keep the veros as a separate fixture if you wanted to build something cheaper to match that Cree light..

I understand. Its about a 500 difference tho.
And that is important too me and i dont think i lose out really anything by using half vero and half cob..
I still might throw him an offer on that light tho..

Yea I kind of missed the point of your question, I edited..
I could run 600 watts cree on one side and 600 watts vero on the other and test them against each other.
I think 1200 watts cobs would be very efficient and my cooling should be a lot easier. My yields should match this runs hps yields wish said.
No buying bulbs..
I might just make an offer for that light...

You could even split that light up and run one 600watt hps in the middle and have 6 on each side of it..

that light is literally 3x what I am running
I have a single 4 cob 320driver at 2.1a
