Well I have tried everything to get rid of the damn fungus gnats. I have beat them back but then they come back x2. Mosquito dunks, captain jacks, neem cake, soap nut tea, karanja cake, MBP, stickies, nematodes. I ordered caps foliar pack. I hope its what everyone cracks it up to be. I got 16 ounces for 60 bucks.

Gnatrol

It's been so long I forget the dosage but water in 3 times per instructions

I haven't seen a gnat in over 3 years - I have more spiders / ants in my home that the room I grow in.

I'm not sure but possibly, diatomaceous earth does. I like liquid bti
What is in crab meal is chitin. Chitin is found between layers of carbonate. As the layers are decomposed they chitin is converted into chitinase via enzymes. Chitinase literally dissolves the exoskeleton of pest insects.

Malted barley has chitinase ready to go and melt some buggies.

DE is microscopic glass but as soon as it gets wet it's useless.

I am seeing 0 fungus gnats. i really think the combination of neem/karanja cake as opposed to just neem cake is what did it but i'm sure the saponin tea helped out. So I'm wondering because i know some old school no till guys like pine bark mulch...maybe the saponin known as pinen acts as a fungus gnat control. I notice guys steering away from straw. Some guys will tell you clover is a fungus gnat guarantee.

I'm dropping an OG Biowar compost slurry on them today. That will seek out and destroy any survivors. Not removing those stickies just yet.

Oh how cool is this! Dirt hippie! I to only shower once a week. I want to learn this “no till” process. Where do I start?
Does your worm bed stink up the house? Those bottle nute lickers don’t know what there missing!
Did you know worm castings don't smell like anything? No smell whatsoever. I keep my worm bins in the back of the back yard. I can't smell a thing until I walk into my grow room. All I faintly smell then is straw when it wet. Most of all I smell this at the moment. Do yourself and us a favor and don't bestow us with your nonsense.

Yeah chitin is the shit! I was gonna mention that but i don't think it cuts the exoskeleton, but I could be wrong.
Years ago I went off on chitin... adding so many different amendments that have it, I accidentally dumped like a four pound bag of insect frass in a 15 gallon along with others!

It's kinda funny..
I was stoked to leave the money grubbing bottles but when I made my first soil it was coots, then I started reading, researching and found out lots of beneficial amendments and naturally I thought fuck if I use all of these things my herbs going to be badass! Well it was no better than coots recipe, just cost hundreds more!
Haha I think that's typical, do I regret it...NO absolutely not! Never quit asking what if!

You perfected your grow!? No you didn't.. you just settled! Science still doesn't understand everything! They say we know more about everything then we do about the soil we stand on! Which pretty much provides all of us with life

You're already on your way, the more you don't shower you'll start to build a layer of glomulin you'll know this has started when you become sticky and hyphae filaments will start branching from you! Hit me up once that starts happening and I'll tell you the next step

It works but i wouldn't recommend it. The best hands down is to build your own soil or you can buy it premixed but if you buy it premixed there's only two places I'd recommend kis organics or build a soil.
They're craft soil builders where roots, ffof and I forget the others off the top of my head aren't complete soils they fall more along the line of commercial products. There's also true living Organics which is nothing I'd recommend and super soil which is also something I would not recommend. That being said doesn't mean you can't use it. Anything else you would like to know feel free to ask and I'll give you my opinion which you could research and find out they're actually facts!
And no worries man we are all newbies and you already made the best decision you can by being open to info tips and takeaways

Thanks! I been thinking along the lines of mainly a coco/perlite mixture with myco powder mixed it and whatever else u think might amend a coco perlite mixture...I just do a veg room and clones right now. I like using Dyna Gro at the moment, I need a fast turnover for clones and vegging and right now Dyna Bro works fast!

Just veg and clone? You don't flower? What do you do with the veg plants, juice them? Which is amazing! I juice my plants after flower!

Your plan works but if you don't mind can I entertain you with my thoughts for a sec?... I'll go ahead and post them but if you do mind then just ignore them:)

Any particular reason you want to use coco over sphagnum peat moss... both can be used and I used both but prefer spm. Here's an article https://www.kisorganics.com/blogs/news/99806785-peat-vs-coco

The problem with perlite is that it floats using lava rock or pumice I believe is a better choice and it provides trace elements. But you can use whatever.

A 50/50 mixture is better as a soilless grow meaning you're not amending and only using nutes.

If you wanna amend then use use 1 third coco or spm, 1 third aeration, 1 third earth worm castings or compost. Get the best of the later you can, there's a lot of shit ewc and compost out there if you're using them then you're losing out on a lot.

I'm gonna copy paste amendments cause it's easier than texting...

Clackamas Coot has done so much for our community, now is your chance to grow using his recipe and also support him for his sharing and knowledge. This kit is based off of Clackamas Coot's own soil mix and 10% of the proceeds will go directly to the man himself. In the past Coot has gotten no revenue for products on the market in his name and we at KIS Organics think it's about time for that to change.

In this Nutrient and Mineral Pack you will receive the following:

For Blending and Topdressing:

Malted Barley

For Mixing in Soil:

Crustacean Meal

Kelp Meal

Neem Cake

Karanja Cake

Basalt

Gypsum

Oyster Shell Flour

Apply at a rate of 2 cups per cubic foot or approximately 1/4 cup per gallon of the mix when mixing soil.

Coot's Soil Recipe per cubic foot of soil (7.5 gallons):

1/3 Sphagnum Peat Moss

1/3 Aeration Amendment (pumice, lava rock, perlite, vermiculite, rice hulls, etc..)

1/3 High Quality Compost and/or Earthworm Castings

2 cups of Coot's Nutrient and Mineral Pack above

2 cups of Malted Barley (blend 1 cup into a powder then mix into soil, the other cup will be top dressed at a rate of 1/4 cup of malted barley each week starting in week 4. You will want to blend the barley right before applying it).

NOTE: The key to this mix is to use high quality compost or earthworm castings. The compost and castings portion contain the highest concentrations of beneficial microbes which are needed to break down the nutrients in to a plant-available form.

If using this amended soil then you don't need dyna grow, if you want fast then go dwc hydro.

For clones spm, aeration, kelp, malted barley powder. You don't need much when cloning. I prefer to use aloe vera and coconut water when cloning but you can just use aloe vera hell you can just use water
