Hello everyone,

I'm trying to figure out why all of the sudden my plants are getting sick (see pics). I just switched over to a ProMix HP medium and Advanced Nutrients (organic line). It seems like after transplanting the plants start off doing pretty well but then the red/purple veining starts, followed by a 'limey' green appearance, followed by yellowing, curling, and dying leaves, then total red/purple stalks. If anyone has any ideas as to what might be happening I would greatly appreciate your insight. Thanks!

what strain are you growing.

there are one or two strains where the plants are healthy but have a lime green color. the one that leaps to mind is Critical if memory serves.

I think those plants are sick. Dunge gave two possible reasons.

if you are growing in COCO it may be a calcium or magnesium deficiency.

have you put out glue traps to see if your plants have unwelcome guests.

Check your pH to rule out lock out.
If not, up your feed?

Good call on the pH, which is something I've looked into. I definitely think it's lockout since they should be getting plenty of nutrients, but I just can't figure out why. I've watered with a pH of 5.8-6.2 in a similar medium for over a decade and have never seen or had this problem. Thanks!

Nice call on the Critical as growing (healthy) with a little lime green color to the new growth. I have a Chernobyl that does the same. I'm growing in straight ProMix HP - no ammendments. I haven't tried upping the cal-mag since I think they should be getting enough based on my feeding regiment, but anything's worth a shot to try and fix this. I do have fungus gnats, but that's all I've noticed as far as pests. Could they cause this kind of damage?

I'm newer but I'd

6.0ph

Light cal mag

n it's odd how u really only have 1 bad/sick plant if the bunch.

Do u think u could have bugs?

Some of the leaves have spotting like mite bites maybe. But with the real bad leaves you'd have seen the mites or whatever by now. I'd do a soil ph. I jump to over feeding when I see purple stems and fading curling leaves. But a soil test will tell the story. But I also see you pearlite heavy in the coco, so do I. Nutes can wash through pretty fast. Hard call. Dig down a little in the pots and pull a sample of the coco and go from there. But I'm thinking over feeding. New food, growing in smaller grow pots. It's easy to do. Had to veg some plants in my last grow for over 3 month to recover from over feeding and not doing ph on my soil.

thanks. I read and study as much as I can. but I am a newbie too.

I knew about Critical because that is a strain I am considering growing next year.

I don't know what pro mix is (assuming it isn't coco. you probably don't need Cal-mag.

. you can run em over with a truck and they come back.

your plants In promix look just like how mine do still cant figure out why I got roots organic soil put them in that and boom its like night in day in there roots super lush in green

im thinking what the problem is a lock out not sure how never gave them much of a feeding before they went to trash

but when I put them in flower and just gave them plan water no phing they start coming back and getting green but then return yellow then I feed and never recovers

so thinking the caution exchange is full on mag/cal so when we add it in early on its what is building up and making the lock outs
