im still building my space i have a area 5x4m area roof sloping from 2.5m
so thats about a 15x4 foot potential growing area with enough hight

just pondering, but thanks for keepin it real.
i just want a small efficient garden and it has to be stealthy as. not as lucky as guys being allowed so many plants etc..

actually i was designing my light fixtures and got way sidetracked:cry: and i was designing fixtures to escape my real dilemma, im still on the fence as to which watering system to use. ive decided to take events advice and let the uc sit on the shelf until i get a few rounds in.:shockedninja:since i have no experience maintaining a reservoir

Thanks wisher, will this do well for veg and flower n do u think i will have any heat issues w this light? I see they say they only have 24w and 54w. Do we go by diff wattage with these type of lights cuz i thought we were trying to stay n the 400w range?

Hands down id say either start with a drain to waste system or a flood and drain system.. Almost the same thing just a little different, very simple yet very effective.. 90% of the people in this thread are running those systems.

So there is a decent difference in light efficiency between hid & fluorescent lights, also the lights i linked to are 400watts vs the one you linked is only 100watts..

24" t5 tubes are 24watts each and 4' tubes are 54watts each.. (per bulb..)

-what size tent/room are you running?
-what are the average temps in the room you will be using?
-do you have somewhere you can vent out hot air? (either to another room, your attic, outside.. etc)

Soo i prolly need to stick w the lights u linked me to w 400w, my text is 3x3x6 n my room temp is usually around 75 or soo but i can only vent from the tent to the same room the tents in however i havnt had any heat issues i jist didnt know if any of those lig hr s run hotter than my led

i guess from wat ive read, watering short times every hour or so in a smaller pot. im a bit cautious with the whole flood n drain thing, growroom being on the 3rd storey. maybe its just the name :sweating:

exactly. Most in here are actually running the drain to waste, only a couple (myself included) are running flood & drain.

yea either way you will need to have like a 27 gallon reservoir with a good amount of water in it at all times.. Flood and drain probably does have more of a potential to flood your area though so yea drain to waste might be more ideal for you.

with those temps unfortunately a 400watt hid is definitely going to over heat that room if you have no way to vent air out. a 400w would pretty much be perfect for a 3x3 though.. this light will definitely run hotter than your led. See if you can figure out if its possible to run 2x 6" ducts to your attic if not then you should probably save your pennies for a (better) led in my opinion.

i installed a drain and the water on the weekend :) things coming along slowly but surely. i was hoping to have walls done by the time my lights come, a lil unrealistic now procrastinations been plaguing me since i got some mystery hash from a m8:smoking:

I deff cant afford a real 400w led. Lol soo ima ha e to figure out a way to make the hids works i guess. Well the only reason it stays that temp is cause i have a space heater i keep running. I can literally set it at any temp i want. Soo if i set the room temp at 70 that would probably have the tent temp around like 75 with the 400w hid u think?
Also ive herd u guys refer to seedling stretching. Is that normal, here is a shot of the day 3 babes. Look good to me, what u fellas think?

looks perfect bro, haha damn your using a space heater? your paying for all the electricity already but not getting any benefits of having the light, do you know what the temp would be with no space heater at all??

Heck yeah, being we have gas heat that runs like 200$ every 3 weeks we moved to space heaters n the house. If i cut it off it would b close to outside temps in my house, around 45/50 ° like i said tho i can cut that heater to anything. Ab how much would it raise the temp in the tent is it was say 70° n my room? Lol
