I vote get the 400 hps and turn the heater off. Might have to re-think for summertime if you don't have a/c.

My thoughts exactly, might have to skip a summer or two of growing and when you can afford a high quality LED then start doing summer runs..

Soo if i turn the heater off in my room its literally gonna be like between 40/50° in my room at the hottest. U think i should run my heater around like 65° ? I just dont see how i could get away without running a heater n almost freezing temps.

shoot man technically with 40/50f temps you could probably run a 600watt setup in that tent and not need to use the space heater at all.. That would seriously maximize your setup.. but im not sure if your really ready for that or not, probably get shit from the guys just for mentioning it haha..

You cant have veg & flowering in the same tent, they have different light schedules. 12/12 for flower 18/6 for veg.. In my opinion you should be able to use that LED you have currently for early veg/clones then put them in the 3x3 tent with the 400watt mh and veg for another couple weeks then flip to flower and use the hps bulb.

You want temps for veg at about 75-80 and temps for flower around 70-75

Yeah i know ab the light schedule somewhat. Im just growing personal, more of a hobby thing. Ive always been fascinated by the actual plant and im only doing 1 run w a couple plants at a time soo i will only have 2 or 3 plants but they will stay on the same light schedule until harvest.

oh cool well in that case the 400watt is the perfect light for you.
Could probably go another couple weeks under that LED for the seedlings..

definitely bro, those are just 'ideal' temps.. dont have to keep it at 80 haha.. i wouldn't even be able to use a blanket with that much heat lol..

hahah.. I would try to keep it at 70 if possible, 65 is sort of on the cold side. For veg i dont even use fans to blow on the plants, I only use fans to circulate the room air.

No only one bulb at a time, veg you want to use the MH bulb & flower you switch it out to the HPS bulb. MH bulbs are more blue/white in color and HPS is more red/orange.

No use a rag or cloth when screwing the bulbs in/removing them.. nothing special to it besides that really..

Dont waste your time on the t5 for flower.
Get the Ipower, it comes with both bulns and hangers for the light, and its dimmable to 300 and 200 watts..
So in a week you put your seedlings under metal halide bulb at 200 watts, and slowly move it up to 400 watts, while we teach you fan leaf technique. Then we switch out the bulbs and put the HPS in and flower.
My 400 is in my room and I dont run no heat in my room, and it keeps my room perfect sleeping temp, about 70. and in the tent its 75 to 80...
Your room will be perfect, for that 400..
For the summer we get you a hood to go with it and show you how to vent it to the attic or out a window..
So you need about 175 to get going with a 400 watt hps.. With that we just might get 8 to 10 zips..
