damn well that makes it seem like my 6k btu should have no problem keeping up but I dont think its ever really kept up very well.. With 2x 600watt lights it turns on for like an hour each time.. I think ill just go with the 10k btu then, would be awesome if it could cool 2x sealed 1k lights too cause then i could just up my wattage whenever i feel like it. Only 200$, not too bad actually..
I think you'd be good with a 10k btu cuz. As always I'd love for a more experienced grower to chime in tho.
Do all of you run 12/12 or do some of you work your way towards 10 on 14 off? Thinking every day I'm just gonna start adding a few minutes to my turn on time
I ended on 11/13 last run. I think I'm gonna go 12/12 all the way this time. I still need some weight and I think you gain speed and lose yield with lower times

im thinking about getting a new A/C... Mine doesn't seem to be working that good and i think its a bit undersized cause it stays on for so long some times, my electric bill has been pretty high this run..

What BTU would you guys recommend for 2x sealed 600watts?
would 10k be enough or should i go with 12k?
Here is the thing with Ac, until flower you dont really need it unless they climb over 85, some strains may n ot like it, I cant comment for all.
But so in flower, we lower the temps mimic fall, and then we really drop the temp the last few weeks to promote color change.. Makes a diff in bag appeal! But those temps are hard to acheive+ with an under powered Ac..
So i guess what Im saying is, if you really want to control temps, then you might as well get a new one..
But I got an idea for you...

Soo let me get this straight, seeting up the hood and carbon filter and fan. Soo were gonna hook the filter up to the fan pushing hot air out of the top of the tent and were not connecting it to the light right? Were also opening the port holes on the bottom of the tent to pull cool air in? N thats basiacllly it right? Thats what i can tell is goin on in ur old tent events.
there is a couple ways to do it, and I will explain both for you..
But It will either be later tonight ot tomm night.
I got some maintenance I need to get done around the garden...

Correct me if im wrong @EventHorizan but i believe what you want to do is put the filter in the tent, hook the fan to the filter, then hook the ducting from the fan to the light fixture then hook the ducting from the other side of the light outside of the tent. That way it cools the light more efficiently. I might be wrong though..

but yes you will need to open the vents at the bottom of the tent
Fliter hooked to hood, hood screwed to fan, then ducted up and out..
Or hood scrwed to fan ducted out to filter on flow..
Make sure you get the flow right on the fan..
The second way is used if space or weight is an issue in the tent...

I found this, is this what we are wanting to do?
Ya pretty much but read above too!

I think it to be a waste of time. I just flip.
I dont leave them in the dark for no extended period..
Just flip...

Aight cool, soo i have the filter n fan already, when the light comes tomorrow should i go ahead n get it going or should i leave the led in there for now. Dude tgat carbon filter.is heavy as shit. I hope my tent can support the weight of that the filter and the hood and light setup. Haha

I mean dont get me wrong it gets the temps down.. But it doesn't cool to 61 without the lights on, and like i said it stays on for like an hour each time it comes on.. probably only stays off for 15-20 minutes.. I think maybe I damaged it from using it when the temps were too cold outside.. This time instead of mounting it in the window im going to build a box for it and vent the back of it to the same place i vent my lights.. Plus during the end of flower my dehu cant keep up and i think the extra dehu from a bigger A/C would help for sure.

Soon as you shut down the UC, use the chiller with a 6" ice box, along with your Ac you have now.
They say its twice as efficient using water...

Hmm not a bad idea.. I dont really have a location for the chiller outside of the room though is my problem.. Ill think about it though

You could reverse the flow of the whole thing and just leave one side of the light open in the tent and then duct the other side to outside of the tent & hook the fan to the duct and make the fan blow into the filter instead... and then just put the filter on the ground or on a table next to the tent... just a thought incase it really is too heavy for the tent...

Thats basically what im doing..

Ill lyk tomorrow when the lightkit come in. Idk if were gonna have room to fit the filter light and fan all in the tent. May have to go with the option with the filter outside of the tent. Thats only "if" i dont think i can get everything to fit or if i think weight will be an issue. Im a little worried ab space and weight at this current moment depending on how heavy this light really is. Events How big of a tent was the one u showed me w the same light and filter combo? Ohh and this is the schematics of my tent. Idk if this will help u decide how i should run this duct

There should be 3 supporting beams for the top of your tent. Put your light on one, the filter on another, and the fan on another. Shouldn't be a problem

Run it through the only hole you can bro, the top.

It’s a booster fan, light as a feather. But yea the light I think should be fine at least..

Im pretty sure it said the carbon filter weighs like 15lbs. Lol this thing is alot bigger than i imagined. I could maby get it all to fit how its supposed to if the lights not very heavy.
