Yes, definitely a factor in why I'm pulling away from LEDs and looking for something else. Need a lower up front cost until I see how long we will be in this location. AC doesn't appear to be a problem thus far; the room is within my shop and i can control the shop temp also... generally keep the shop about 52 degrees - then pull in air from the shop as needed. Thoughts?

I was off doing drug plants im sure. I dont use veg nutes... i use flower base and a booster...indoor and out... hydro needs veg shtuff

Well brother, its a newborn baby, it doesnt know what it wants to do,,,
She looks fine..
I mean she is a skinny thing but she pull out of that. Make sure you dont got a fan blowing straight on them.
A lil breeze right between the top of them and the bottom of the light is good to break up direct heat from the bulb..
We had them under that led and now they are getting a decent real light. So they may be adjusting...

Yes, was wondering about that. Also, a friend who bought his gear a couple years ago, then stopped growing (but may have an overinflated idea of what they're worth based on age...) has 3 XXXL closed air cooled MH/HPS hoods (no ballasts) and hangers for sale for $200 and will throw in whatever bulbs he has lying around. Thinks they were mostly higher end bulbs used one or possibly 2 grows already, but free. Is that worth going for or should I just jump on some of those complete system Black Friday week deals that Amazon has going this week? Thoughts?

Yes, was thinking 3 4x4 quads with room to walk and store the water reservoir if possible; otherwise can move the res out. But the other limitation is that these first 6 plants will be ready to flower FAR sooner than the others.

Is it worth trying to hold these back and get 9 more clones today or just go for it and put the 9 into the 5x5 tent for next run? (I know, I know, $5 adds up quickly...lol!)

I wouldn't worry about UV at this time.. You just need to get your basic lighting setup going since you only have 700 to work with IMO.. what size duct holes do those xxxl hoods have? probably worth it as those hoods usually run about 150$ a piece.. especially if your getting a few high end 1k watt bulbs as a bonus...

Might be difficult keeping the room temps down with no A/C, will probably have to mess with different orientations of fans pulling/pushing air in/out of the room.. Also will have to duct the lights directly outside or something if possible..

Buy the hoods!!!! Make sure that the rubber on the glass is there and that they seal. Make sure they aint got the dumb hydrofarm plug on it..
And I show you whay ballast to put with them. They are about 100 a piece! They have a remote and there own buillt in timers! And they are arguably the best ballast on the market and I have 2 of them myself. They run pretty cool and they pretty slick looking too....

still pondering my A/C dilemma.. Not sure if i should buy a new one and up my 2x hoods to 1k bulbs or if i should just keep waiting for another 6 months + probably to get some LEDs.. I feel like my A/C has just been soo inefficient but i guess its hard to tell.. I want to use the ice box thing with my chiller instead of an A/C but i need dehumidifying capabilities because deep in flower i cant control the humidity enough..
