Hi All,
I finally got around to growing my own. Thanx to the internet and a little luck I'm in the game. The luck part is that the only bag seed (thanx Paddy) that germinated was a fem and although nothing like what I expected (no smell unless I squeeze a bud) she is doing great. I'm in week 8 of flowering, got cloudy trichome tips with no discoloration yet (using a phone to look see). Note some new pistils are shooting out!

Today I oven dried a popcorn bud and it tasted good with great result. Almost as good as the cup winner deliveries I used to get, too bad cloning failed!

My question comes down to: should I harvest or wait? And any input on drying/curing would be welcomed in advance since the oven method on bag seed near harvest time seemed great for a home grown first timer!

Grow Details:
1) Indoors.
2) 15 gallon pot (10 used), organic soil!
3) Well water, didn't PH nothing.
4) Good tomato fertilizer for veg and FoxFarms for flower.
5) 8 cfl bulb custom rig with aluminum sheet reflectors.

New grower myself here, but here's what I know. If you're seeing cloudy trichs then you could harvest for a more uplifting high, but if you're looking for more body effect (aka couch lock) then wait for the trichs to amber out somewhat.

Looks like some lovely stuff. Odd about the lack of scent though.

Pic of whole plant helps. There are more indicators than trichs. How long in flower? Pics aren’t the best. I’d guess you have a couple weeks like 2 are you planning to cut nutes and flush at the end? Clean out stored stuff in soil. You want at least a week or 2 clean water only at the end. Post pic of plant. Are leaves fading. Percentage of red to white hairs. Lot of things would help have better idea how close you are. And dry slow. Slow as you can without molding.

Oh I see it says week 8 now. Not knowing strain still leaves a lot of variables. You could be a week or 5 weeks. Pics of whole plant. I still say 2 weeks.

I just LOVE that growing has spread so far and wide...and I love that people are asking for help and the internet allows them to get it. It's fucking beautiful.

OK, so one step at a time. A photo further back would help, but you look like you're right there. Do a 3-day water only flush--then harvest. Next time, you're gonna want to pay attention to pH. Harvest all at once. Cut whole plant. Read up on hanging, drying, and really getting a great cure. FOCUS ON THE CURE. DO NOT RUSH. CONCENTRATE ON THE CURE. Oh--and did I say?--FOCUS ON THE CURE. You'll dial in on the growing in the next rounds.

More to come re hanging and drying.

Here are a couple of pix of the whole plant. I've switched to water only for about a week now. I didn't do a flush since I wasn't sure if it works with amended soil! Not sure if it is apparent in the pix but there are new pistils coming out!!!

i always reguardless how i want my thric,be it cloudy, half and half are full amber,i always feed nothing but water, then the plant will eat itself of any nutrients it has left in it,you cannot flush soil, just wont happen all you wind up with is mud and soon to follow anerobic soil, just as it does in your yard hard and compact over time, will still grow stuff yes,but air will make it thrive, when i say flush,i mean when the thric are almost were i wont it,for head high, couch loc or knock out,2 weeks before i feed nothing but water,,this also helps in the curing process, doing this will also give you smoother smoke imo, hell most times after you hang it and get that just before snap of the stem you can almost smoke it then, and if done right wont even have the hay taste

im sure your aware those are sativa dominant? there gonna take longer, but if your ready to harvest, keep feeding water they will scvage there own self, leaves turn yellow and force the thric to do what your looking for

my understanding of a flush is a period of time--two weeks or so--during which you give the plant only water.
and uh yea, i'm backing up oldskol4evr--soil can not be flushed. that should be obvious--oldskol4evr is being much nicer on that point than me by simply presenting the facts.

I read somewhere that a flush is water enough to get runoff wait 5mins and do it again!
doesnt matter style.water ,soiless or soil, flush is getting the nutes out of your plant, some say flush when you have issues, this works great for hydro just change res water, soilless washs all nutes out of the media, soil makes mud,and you never wash out what caused your problem,a plant no matter what it is only takes what it seems fit for that time,so if you screwed up and burned some leaves they still there, thats when you pay attention to new growth, there is a difrence though soiless and water, you see your screwup quick were in soil takes about 3 days
