I am far from being an expert on this topic. But I think you're right, it might be a sign of the times, I don't know? Everything is so diluted and convoluted and polluted it's really hard to tell what the hell! What I can't stand is people calling something and OG when it's only like one third OG Kush. And I've said this before I just don't think you can slap the OG tag on something that isn't at least 50%you know? I'm starting to run on tangents here I can feel it so I'll try to reel it in. But I talk to some friends of mine in the Bay Area and a couple people here on the farm and there's some like-minded people that are basically going back to the drawing board so to speak. Which I think is probably the best thing to do we all love OG Kush, and there is more than enough talented breeders and Seed makers that could probably take some healthy good yielding not so finicky landrace lines and basically recreate the OG.
Swami comes to mind. I haven't had a chance to try any of Med man stuff but I think he's using an afghan Kush 4 some of the strains he's calling Kush. And diesel for that matter. Yeah there I go I'm I'm lost where was I... Sorry :-)

On another note mountain organics has a strain called velvet sunrise. It's (the one x velvet rush) x sunset sherbet.
He describes it as his kush offering.
I have the beans but haven't popped them

Yup that is how it looks when grown in soil. However it looks different when grown in rock wool. The leaves are like this leathery thick and the serrations are well defined. How did you get the cut? I’m in SoCal and I know how I got my cut. Kenji gave it to my good friend back in the day and he shared the clone with me. Also I don’t agree that it was only grown in the kush mountains of India in fact og is more sativa than indica. The nugs look indica but the way the plant grows is more sativa like. you can say that it’s the best indica genetics crossed with the best sativa genetics.

This plant thrives in humid environments much more than it does in drier environments. But only if you have mastered how to grow it. Great yielder. But for the novice grower it can be a complete disaster and loss. The beauty about this cut is that it’s grower specific. Give another chef the cut and ingredients formula and it won’t come out the same

I always knew it came from Kenji which I don’t know personally but that’s what my friend who gave me the cut had told me back in the day. He said That he knew it came from Florida that’s it. And then we have the story which matches with the story I heard 18 years ago. I recently spoke to my old friend and showed him a pic of Josh and he said that he knew Josh too.

I know what the real og kush smells like because i had a friend who was a delivery driver. The kush was so strong it smelt up his car even with no herb in it. Then fast forward years later and the kush contacts are gone. spent threee years looking for the og kush. I finally found it up north in the emerald triangle. Bought 500$ worth OG kush and on the last pack i found a single seed deep in the bud. I grew it out to make sure it was like the mother bud. then after i knew it came out right i contacted the farm and they told me its the original og kush predating true og and is from around y2k when sourced. their hidden website data was from a company out of yep you guessed it: Florida. I already knew it came from Florida because when i went to keywest(not smoking) the mangroves smell like kush. So the kush people and the cookie people dont give out the real deal so I gave it out to everyone i know and made copies for many more. took me 3-4 years to get the og kush and let me tell you this it is from india, kush mountains. You can tell by the way it grows, light timing, humidity as you mentioned. Thats because the kush mountains are very humid, hot, cold all in one. Harsh winds too. The leaf offset is adaption over time.

Well then you don’t have the real og kush, just cause you found another bag seed in a sack makes your cut just another s1 of the real og cut like all the other good ones that exist. Don’t get me wrong maybe you got lucky and got a decent one but just cause you popped a bag seed from the real kush does not mean it will be exactly the same. I have also found seeds from my og cut in the buds over the years and have grown it out and it was not exactly the same to the original cut. There are plenty of good s1’s here in la that closely resemble the original cut but after close inspection and analysis they are not the same. How do you think all those other og cuts flowing around came about. By creating a seed from that original cut. By the way you remind me of Superkawai. This is indica kush, there has always been kush weed before og kush. But og kush is not 100% indica it’s more sativa than indica. In fact it was not named kush because of indica kush. I grew out some OG kush seeds last year. The phenos were all diffrent. two had the 3 finger og kush leaf that was dark but more sativa. MY sativa leaning kush had a high that was confusing and strong. flavor was wack. Then my other 3 finger kush was indica and turned out like a clear strong kush high with a slight piney flavor. The indica didnt produce all but small wispy buds but looked big while the sativa kush was more frosty and dense.

The thing is that i was not happy with these water down crosses. every time i open my weed bin you can smell that kush flv but you can also tell the crosses were weak. Thats when i started looking for the original OG kush and i was blessed with one seed that turned out to be some fire. It greasy and potent long lasting and great smelling cannabis just exactly like the original.

I am not selling anything so you have nothing to worry about. I live a poor humble life.

this whole story interests me so much, thanks for the input. i am currently running some josh d og and hoping its something similar to the pure we used to get back in the 90's.
