yeah they grow here. You need good deep soil tho, or grow them in bags with well rotted manure/ compost and a bit of wood ash. You will need water tho
tell ya what, mama suggested the trash bags,so tried im sold on it,hell of a lot better splitting that bag than digging um up,lol

I hate digging here bro, its hot, heavy clay, whats not is rocks that are heavy, its sweaty work and brings less results for the time input imo

yeah on veggies it rocks, its high in K so a great product for most eating crops, even those grown for pasture too. I use it on tomatoes, the yeast can be used to replace any aspirin to stimulate the SAR
when i made my soil i added the media pro and the balance, kept moist, shit a rocking right now, just the squash end rot, maybe this would help

mama got a new zuchinni strain this year, damn things dont get bigger than a soft ball, good stuff too,we had a meal of them other night, think i like them better than the original and easy as hell to grow,,we were gonna do pumpkins but i did have a spot for them,so come winter a new bed goes in,for them and another on oppiste side for sweet potato, that one would depend on yeild from the bags this year, but last year ,hell i gave the majority to the kids, great yeild on them,of course fencing has to go up first to keep my 4 legged kids out hahahah

Yeah, I got here and the soil was like a brick, clay, heat, water = ceramics. I used BBM and BMP to till it. I used K+AMINO too, watered in to 3cm depth min.

here is what I do for my melons, pumpkins, squash and so on. I still refer to this as no till, technically I am hardly touching the soil.
I use the surrounding loose top soil and mix this with manures, equal parts. I just scrap up a wall and then tip in the mixed manure top soil. I cap off with manure as this is less likely to form a crust. I do use a hand tool pick hoe to loosen the soil before I put my mix in. Its more an aeration than a dig.

boar damage, its worse than the picture does credit. They have tilled up to about 8 inches, completely damaged the soil line along the irrigation path, now I will get pools and less efficient draining until I repair it

use these bro, I grow trees using them, they rock, no need to pay for irrigation and the structure helps prevent critter damage while the trees are young uns.

hahahha flat out mate, we planted a new field, not huge but lots of prep and then set up time. 6845m next to the Olive trees.
Plus I have been growing sets for transplanting between now and the 16th. I usually wait for the mid way so wont move most of these until the 8th, which I see as the best day of the cycle for my seed in fruit (above ground) crops, tomatoes, peppers and so on. We have been planting Remolacha, Zanahorias, Nabo, Bonitas and so on. But the rest.. this will be reliant on the weather which has been a bit odd already. Lots of cold but very dry wind this last month.
A challenge because we dont have the right infrastructure here yet. We werent sure so we waited to build germ rooms, plus lots of coops here to buy sets if we bust out. :)
So very good to see you mate......... The weather is at best undependable and unpredictable. No reason to fret about global warming or anything else right.......... Well at least anyone in government or the petroleum industry anyway........ Being a weather person/meteorologist is a cool job. Only position I know one can hold and be wrong 80% of the time and still keep their jobs........... :eyepiece:

ha I trust the old timers here, they say mark for rain Saturday and Sunday. I will be chuffed if this is true. The real weather has been wrong on my phone all week. today it said overcast...its roasting and blinding sun with lots of cloud reflection amplifying it ...

Too late for climate change. I tried to get more people interested in helping sequester carbon, but its just too hard to get people to do anything much apart form be apathetic. They all want to go on holiday, or access some shiny trinket in some immediate way. No one much cares for the levels of deferment required to fix the worlds shit storms.

one years worth of me sitting on my hands after planting it up with a mixed cover mate. You ought to see the piles of rocks at the side out of shot. They say its about motivation. For me its just anger now that is removing the rocks :-) that and hours at least. My hands are raw from slinging rocks and lifting them from the abrasive top soil without gloves..I swear I had spares...still I cant stop working because i dont have mittens to protect my hands now....

Hard to say but they got room ... I leave 2m between plants and they can roam a good distance before the next row crop which is cucumbers, then a row of courgettes. The left of shot will have a small screen fitted to stop them crawling in to my tomato rows and i am 1.5m inside this line. They tend to grow east as this is the morning side of course. they are rowed N.E direction and get full sun from 8am. They have 2m to the path in a south direction for crop 1 and about 5M to the cucumbers for all. I will screen them at this line I reckon and then just peg them if I need too. I will probably end up screening the whole block to make sure they dont over grow all the paths and I certainly dont want my Melons to be subject to the same bee as the Pumpkins if you feel me. It messes with the taste imo
