Aloha fellow farmers,

We just kicked off our first crop in our new 1080ft2 greenhouses (2 of them)!

I’ve always wanted to do a grow journal, so here I go. I’ll try to be as consistent as possible but... growing is a lot of work as many of you know.

We are growing 7 different strains this season:

Sunset Halē
-Chocolope
-DJ Short Blueberry
-Cheesequake

Sunrise Halē
-Afgooey
-Sour D
-Makena
-Dutch Treat

We put 4-6ft beasts in our Sunset Halē and about 2ft starters in our Sunrise Halē. I am going to do some aborasculpting/LST magic on the beasts and just top/fim/scrog the keikis as they grow.

Wish us luck! Let me know if you have questions. I’ll post pictures as we go

Looks great. How often are you watering those massive air pots?

We water daily if we have consistent sunny days. This depends on soil moisture content though, and some good old fashioned “eye-ballin.”

I’m running soil moisture sensors. Usually at around 24%-26% i’ll water again. We always water early morning as the sun is waking up. Sometimes we skip a day if it looks like the plants aren’t drinking as fast due to sun/rain (temp/humidity).

Also, our grow medium is 60% coco and 40% perlite. Super hard to ever over-water in this stuff. The big plants drink about 5 gallons each and those little guys are getting 2.5 gal each (which is overkill for now).

So we are gearing up to smash all of our plants down to the propper height. We are putting in these trellis net support poles while we wait for the netting to arrive in a few days.

We may have to scoop the plants, roots and all, and lay some of them sideways-ish to get them down to the height we want. This should be interesting. I’ll post aftermath pics...

In case anyone is interested, I’m using a “flower power” sensor. Pretty neat little device. Here’s some screen shots. (Oh and we added some CO2 tanks today. Greenhouses are super leaky but we’re going to see how the CO2 levels hold with supplementation).

Update on Sunrise Halē Plants.

The Makena’s are taking off. Very hardy plant and rigorous grower. If the yield is as good as the growth rate this might become one of my favorite strains! (Far left row)

Dutch Treat is staying thin but healthy. I’ve seen the bud from this cut and it’s pheno’s are top notch. One of the sweetest and best tasting terp profiles I’ve come across. (Center aisle; first 6)

The Sour D is finally rooted enough to start getting in the race. These were the smallest clones we got out of the collection for sure. (Center aisle;behind Dutch Treat).

Afghooey is growing pleasantly well. This is another killer cut. The bud from this pheno stanks. Like nasty toe jam dirty diaper stank... but in ya’ know... a good way haha. (Far right row).

Just released our order of predator mites into the hauses. This has got to be the easiest way to deal with pests! No more hours of spraying and treatments... just little natural nano machines designed to hunt down mites that eat cannabis.

Also got some EM brewing to kick things up a notch and shoot for that artisen level flower. I’ve seen great results with other ag projects but I’ve never used it on cannabis. I’m excited.
