why would someone pay so much for a basically diy project that leaks? JK

Who said it leaks?

I'd happily pay $2k for a system that's been iterated on. Practice makes perfect, and bringing a product to market generally adds a lot of polish.

When they've built it to properly mate to lighting, etc. that makes me believe they've put a lot of thought into it. Thought and practice take money and time, and time is money. :-)

If it does leak, that would change my mind entirely. :-)

Like this sytem; New to the Boards

I have followed this thread on the Under Current DWC Hydro system and found the posts and links of value. I ordered the buckets, came lightening fast, and the seals.

Has anyone yet built one of these systems?

Or has anyone used one of these systems?

I have been using DWC with 5gal buckets then expanded up to 16 gal totes to give more room for the roots.

Been using Advanced Nutes, and have had great results.

I hope to post photos soon, need to learn my way aroung the boards.

Just wanted to find out the progress on the Under Current system.

Let's put the pieces together

I got the 8 gal buckets and the seals, thanks TX for the link, Pump and Air so all that is left is to put it all together.

I am going to start out with 4 square buckets and two 400 watt HID lights.

Will post pix as I go along. New to board so learning curve is steep at the moment.

Suggestions appreciated,

Go Tex! Bigger and Better!

I really like the aeration philosophy behind this system. Hope you don't mind if I keep an eye on your progress!

It looks like the drain does not work by gravity but by the force of a pump . Is there a pump after the last pot to get it up into the reservoir?
