Can Oil Be Used In Dry Flower Vape?

Can a vaporizer for dry flower be used for oil ? Like the old school kind from the 70's & 80's.

I love smoking it & I prefer to make it myself. Since I have quit the ciggs, I don't want to use tobacco for a spliff & using cannabis in place of tobacco, well I might as well smoke the weed.

Now, I could go completely old school & use a blow torch & one of my mother's antique sliver spoons as I did in the 80's, but I don't have access to the spoons anymore, plus the torch is a pain in rear end. So, before I spend a ton on a vaping outfit & ruining it by using oil in it when I shouldn't, it would be nice to know first.
I hope I put this in the right place...

Thank you for all of your help. . .

Don.

The crafty and mighty by storz and bickel you can use concentrates. They include concentrate pads. They also have a capsule system that makes changing strains easy to do without enptying the chamber of material, just pull the capsule and insert another. They both have the highest ratings by many vape reviewers and sites. They are expensive but worth every penny.

They will last almost exactly one year (with heavy use) and come with a three year warranty. They will send you a label to send it back in and 2nd day air a brand new one to you. My brother is on his fourth unit in 4 years and they keep extending the warranty without charging him so he’s gotten 4 brand new units. They also let you keep the accessories and cooling heads so you’ll always have plenty of accessories on hand without having to buy anything extra.

Imo it’s the only unit worth using. I’ve had the firefly 2 and pax 2 and neither come close in terms of convenience and vapor quality.

I’m currently looking into rosin vapes. Seems there are vapes that do wax or shatter or rosin. Not really an expert on the issue, i had a dry herb vape and loved it. Definitely better than smoking, lot more flavour.
Well anyway there are vapes that does 3 with different bullets or pads that you put into the chamber. Oil, wax and dry herb. Also i’ve seen something called dab/dip vape in aliexpress (long story short thats my best bet getting a vaporizer at the moment, stupid customs), which seem to work on concentrates and oils and its kinda cool as you dip it directly into the concentrate and inhale at the same time. :)
But i wouldnt use a dry herb vape for oil or concentrate unless it is specified. It would drip into the mechanism and do some damage imo.

The mighty and crafty include concentrate pads that the concentrate sticks to. They are actually made specifically for that purpose. If you use them with the capsules you’ll even have a way to quickly change strains without mess.

The mighty has an led readout and temp controls on the front of the unit. The crafty uses an android or iOS app to set the temps but includes a turbo button that lets you boost the temp by whatever you want by double pressing it. It’s handy for getting the last little bit of thc out of a session.

I had a firefly 2 and it wasn’t very good. It made the herb taste homegrowny if you know what I mean. The app quit responding after a few weeks and it’s been useless ever since. They light have fixed it now but I bought a second mighty to use instead whenever my main unit is getting fixed.

What happened is my mighty took a shit and I was left without a vaporizer so I bought a firefly 2 off a recommendation and used it while my mighty was sent back. Only had to use it for about 4 days total so it wasn’t too bad. Anyhow after the first day I really regretted my purchase. I used it but I didn’t enjoy it. So when my brothers crafty took a dump I gave it to him to use while his was getting repaired. He had the same experience. It’s better than nothing but that doesn’t say much. So when his crafty got back he gave it to a friend who wanted to try it out and that friend offered to give it back but he didn’t even want it back, lol. Anyhow do yourself a favor and go storz and bickel and you’ll be thrilled.

Well i can’t go with any of them at moment so no biggie. I’m into chinese knock offs for now :)
Mighty is supposedly very good. I read some reviews on that. But also not very portable. So having one easy to carry and one big stay at home vape would be better ;)

The crafty is pretty small. The mighty isn’t that big either. The advantage to the mighty is the battery size. You can 2-3x more sessions between charging.

No I don’t sell them. I wish I had access to them. Been using them for about 4 years now. Paid $499 for my first mighty. They are down quite a bit now compared to back then.

Thanks for all the input & opinions, I appreciate it very much, but I think I will stick to the torch & spoon method for awhile.

$500 is a bit steep for me just to do a couple whacks of oil in my garage maybe 3 or 4 times a year. Ya see, I really enjoy a nice spliff in one hand & my Crown Royal Whiskey in the other hand. If I had a 3rd hand for the vape nail I might reconsider.

Speaking of a spliff & a whiskey, I will go tear one up right now. . .

So Thanks again for all the information.

Don
