Can Stronger Lights Cause Heat Stress?

i upgraded from a 75W light to a 375-392W light this is purely an indoor grow but i am wondering can this cause heat stress. kind of like shocking the plants because the lights are brighter?

i put them at about 18" as recommended, run a fan, however the very tops of the plants are showing what looks like heat stress. i checked the heat with my hand it felt good under it at 18" if i went any closer it got warmer but what i mean is like does it shock them or is it purely just the heat?

i dont know how to really explain it but what i am trying to say is like take for example your in the dark for a long time and then go outside into sunlight and your eyes hurt and have to adjust a little before you get used to it. is that the same thing that is happening here or is it just because of the extra heat?

i did raise the lights of course but they are at it's max already but now they should be around 22"

When you change the environment in an indoor grow your going to stress the plants. Temp and lights should slowly be introduced into the environment. Yes They are stressed from the change.

would you say it is actual heat stress or simply from the big change? most of the plants look good it's just 1 node per plant that looks like they have slight heat stress and tacoing.

i figured they might do this because the lights are a lot brighter but the grow room feels a LOT cooler then what it used to be since i was running 2 CFL's with reflectors ontop of the 75W as well and no fan.

It's from taking in much more light. When I moved some plants from my lower wattage LED to my gavita, I had to run lower wattage and steadily increase it each day. Or you can set them way in the corner and slowly move them closer to the center. I also have to increase their nutes a little when they start taking in more light. They will use much more and deficiencies come quicker under more light in my experience.

yea that is what i just read about the nutrients at least. idk though my plants had like nutrient lock out since i fed to much now it looks like they have iron deficiency but kind of hard to tell if they still have nutrient lock out or i should stop feeding.

majority of the plant seems okay it's just like 1 node per plant that is folding but it isn't too bad. i might toy with the light schedule as well cause right now i have them on 24/0 might bring em down slowly to 18/6 almost time for me to flower anyways
