the elusive road kill Skunk from 1985-19?? Ish. Does it still exist? Could it possibly be hidden all these years, somewhere...... out there? She still has to exist in a grow room far, far away! Or in a drawer that hasn’t been opened in years, packaged so lovingly to be CRACKED ones again and grown to her stinky, skunk road kill potential!! I can still remember the power she had as I lit her up and inhaled the taste..... oh the thick smoke heavy skunk taste! As soon as you inhaled her to the full extent she’d expand in your lungs! You try to hold it as long as you can but she won’t let you.... you have to let her go as you do the skunk gets the best of ya and you caugh you can’t stop as soon as you can get control you have no choice but to go back for more. That being said.......WHERE THE HELL IS ROAD KILL SKUNK!!!!

I thought I read somewhere it was a special rare pheno found in a skunk #1 pack way back when. A google search pulls up BC Roadkill but I’m not sure if that’s the same or not. I’ve seen it discussed on old threads here and at rui but I’m not sure of anyone that still has it.

That being said I had some sort of skunk back in the 90s a buddy gave it. It smelled like a skunk that had been run over. So much so everytime I smell a dead skunk it reminds me of that strain. A buddy in high school grew it at home with his mom helping. He brought me some leaves from it one day and I took it home and smoked it with some friends. It didn’t take much and we were fried. A couple days later he brought me a couple buds and again I shared it with some friends and it was amazing. Bright green with orange hairs and smelled more than anything I have ever run into and it’s bit even close. If I had to rate the strength of the odor between 1-10 I’d give it a 60. The next closest might be sensi star and like i said it’s not even close. I’ll have to ask him where he got the seeds. Not sure if it’s still something available but maybe it’ll give us some sort of lead. I still talk to him on Facebook from time to time.

For sure. The stuff I had was very fresh too. Hadn’t had a chance to dry all the way. So we ended up putting it my buddies microwave. Lol. We weren’t very bright about this stuff back then. It still got us Chinese eyes as cheech and Chong would say.

In the 80’s i could get weight of outdoor skunk in New Jersey.

The old guys gave me trash bags with big arm size untrimmed buds. Lol.

The one joint 5 or more of us would smoke in the barn would already have us pretty much tripping and stinking of skunk.

Then our crazy asses would smoke one in the car and hope to get home in the reeking thing.

Fast foward to colorado mountains in the early 2000’s. Met locals that knew growers from Leadville and later South Park. They had a hybrid they called Skunk 6. It apparently won a cup around 1996. It was very much like the original. Light green, super smelly like we remember and so potent!

It was a black market grow meant for California medical dispensaries.

Bet “legal” weed killed it off forever like everything else it touches.

I think the biggest thing that killed it off was prohibition. And the reason for that is because it was impossible to hide or grow incognito without everyone in a 50 mile radius knowing what you were doing indoors or out. This was before carbon scrubbers really got popular. My guess is folks just got creeped out and didn’t feel like it was worth the risk. But then again that’s sheer speculation on my part.

Agreed. Breeding for lower smell and shorter flowering times because it was illegal is the biggest factor.

But the real rebels. The real growers that grew and sold flowers that always got me high. High as a kite. Have seemed to disapear and now we have cash crop dispensary strain of the month garbage.

Mrs mmg went to colorado to see her dad when he was dying of cancer last year. She went to 3 popular denver dispensaries to find good weed to help her dad feel a little better.

She told me there was no medicine available. Everything she tried sucked. Especially the edible candies.

Mrs mmg is a lightweight compared to my friends and I. I was even surprised.

She wished she had some of ours for him.

I think the best chance is to find older genetics and hope it comes up.

I have some pungent stuff sometimes but nothing like the real skunk.

In high school we got busted for a tiny roach sealed in a cigarette cellophane inside 2 zip lock baggies.

Busted the second we entered class.
High school, 1/2 OZ through it in the car door behind the speaker dog found it, lol. Was 1986:)

Bodhi has real deal rks.he doesn't really use it much on indoor strains as he says the rks has a tendency to throw banners.

Ive been running Dominions Polecat (Chemdog 91 x SSSC Skunk). Just like East coast growth wise but way more skunk funk. Pretty legit. The Polecat BX is floating around out there atm.
