36 of my own seeds were sown on 15 December 2018, making these seedlings nine days from being placed in wet paper towels. After chit they were placed in soil.
Grow log on a fist full of my own seeds

Started with six batches of seed.

AKMango f1 (fall '16) 5/6
AKFire f1 (Jan '18) 6/6
AKFire f1 (May '18) 5/6
AKDog f1 (Nov '17) 6/6
AKDog f1 (Jan '18) 6/6
AKDog f1 (May '18) 6/6

Most of them made it above ground, and a final germination update will be slightly less than the chit rate. It's still higher germ rate than expected.

This is what I expect them to look like in nine weeks.

And this is what I expect in 18 weeks.
Grow log on a fist full of my own seeds 2

This is half way through a nine week flower cycle.

Went out for a Christmas beverage at the best brewery in Fox Alaska, and I return to 9 views and one response (thank you 1d1)
Perhaps this forum can survive legal weed.
I feel very skilled at this garden I live with, and I owe all my confidence to the Farm.
I know what supersoil formulation will deliver (compiled from forum offerings) and I have learned to deal with the locals, namely fungus gnats and spider mites. No fungus troubles other than a dreaded stem fungus that shows up in summer grows and a summer gray mold that I am selecting against in an auto seed line.

I like growing my own seed line.
I have pollen stored in the freezer that I can make more seeds from off my master mother White Fire.
Got her source seeds from an auction right here on the farm.

So I down to growing, and more importantly serially cloning my keeper White Fire, and a slug of nice seeds that I have been lucky enough to make.

I only hope to gather some followers to share a seedling journey with.
Let us begin.

Ditto, I’m with you bro! Merry Christmas!

Here we are at two weeks, and things don't look so story book.
20181229 161936

They have been under a dome, and I suspect the reduced light, let them stretch.
I wanted to provide them some protection from the low but persistent fungus gnat presence.
They are now out in the open and expected to fend for themselves.
I expect to transplant these deep into 2 inch pots in a week or two.
That should straighten them out.
Just want to see leaf growth.
Bent pipe cleaners hold up a few that I just had to help out.
Only three dry holes, so 31 seedlings are in play out of 36 seeds sown.
I don't need this many, so some sad culling is in my future.

Why don't you do it...right now?:)
True, the sooner the better, but getting the root mass high enough to hold together is my concern.
I'll pull some out to check for readiness, and up pot asap.
My skills put seedlings at risk for this tricky maneuver.
My thinking is that even when lodged, seedlings are growing apace, so little harm in waiting.
Or so I hope.

Wish that I had up-potted when I took that last picture, because the damage delivered by neglect was devastating.
20190104 091519

I was watering from below and I think that many died from drying out.
20190104 094623

Did manage to keep a dozen with a good spread on the three varieties.
If half are male, I will need to protect these survivors to bring six of them to flower.
So much for worrying about culling.

Damn that sucks bro. Sorry for your losses. What strains did you use for the crosses? Obviously AK-47 was used. Its one of my all time favorite strains personally. Hopefully the rest make it through.

Here we are at six weeks from sow, and the surviving 12 are mostly on course.
20190119 174229

The few smaller ones will likely stick around, as I need 5 girls to add to four clones to fill my flower space.
I can cram 12 in, but 9 feels better.
Some of the larger sprouts are almost past node 5 and ready to top.

I mentioned before that I rarely had any trouble with mold except for stem issues outside. Well, I lost a few branches off of one of my last harvest to stem mold. White stem at a few pruning sites. But his was a very old plant that had old scars. She was my keeper that needed to veg until I got some clones to root. Due to a mite battle, she was weakened and thus hard to clone. Took some time to get beyond the mites, and by then she had some thicket-form growth going. Happy to report that I have four healthy clones of her, with no mites in sight.

Correction: This is in fact six weeks from sow.
My previous post was simply a calendar counting error.
20190126 192806

Pictured here are 4 of my keeper clones and on the right the 11 surviving un-sexed seedlings.
Lower right is one of the clones. I imagine its position has slightly better light, so hopefully it will catch up with the others.

We have arrived at 8 weeks for the seedlings, and there is some drama in the garden.
20190209 165800

Three days ago I noticed some dramatic wilting on one of my seedlings. Further inspection suggests that several of the plants are experiencing wilt issues.
The only thing I can think is that I watered heavily and let them sit in the runoff. I often do this on bigger plants, but perhaps these little ones are more easily drown. This is the theory, so what to do?
20190209 171427

I figure that up-potting into dry soil might help.
We shall see.
20190209 171846

The most stressed plants are the four down front.
They were the four smallest seedlings, so perhaps this played a role.
If that one on the left survives I'll be surprised, but I hate to loose any of them.
I have been running this exact garden for years and this is the first time I have seen this.
Spontaneous death has only been from stem fungus in my past, and this doesn't look like that.

I make this post 18 hours after up-potting into dry soil.
20190210 093624

Never have I seen such diagnostic results in such short time.
The worst plant is on the left, and it was totally limp and bent over.
It has righted itself and looks alive.
I am shocked to learn this lesson after growing for so many years.
Damage was done, but I believe these plants will survive.

Week ten for the seedlings.
This is the curse of the grow log.
When things go badly, the log must go on.
20190223 075159ann

There are only seven of the original seedlings left.
Two are confirmed female and one suspected male.
Confirmed males and irreparably over watered have been culled.

I have four weeks to get a maximum of 12 plants into flower.
If I come up short, will train the big ones to take up more space.

I remain shocked that I could learn so late of the dangers of over watering.
Somehow I just never ran into it before.

12 week since sow update.
20190309 160002

There are five seedlings in this mix that are candidates for flower space in two weeks. One may be a male, so that makes eight or nine into flower.
This is a good number for my flower space which has historically maxed out at 12 plants.
