I've got a rose plant I'm keeping inside, I can't remember exactly what sort of rose but it suppose to be indoors.
I have no idea about this plants life cycle or its requirements. I'm sure something is eating leaves, I've located a black blotch under a leaf, I don't know what it is. I want to keep this plant and look after it but need to know how!
All advice would be much appreciated.

Just be careful. Aphids hit roses like the plague.
It's been in my house about a week, I didn't think nothing of it but then I thought I might aswel try and grow some nice roses.
So looking at it today I noticed the damage, that to me looked like something had been eating it.
I noticed something moving in the soil, not sure what they are, there tiny. I'll have to try and Google them.
I'll definetely be careful not to go from the rose to my proper plants, I'd be gutted if whatever it is started eating my weed. I'd over kill the rose if that happened.

Look up hypoaspis miles. They are probably the crawlers in the soil. Beneficial mites. As for roses, i don’t do indoor but i got a big bush in my garden. I don’t do anything specific or special to take care of it and it blooms very vigorously every year. Just a little ewc sprinkled over the soil but indoors they will need fertilization for sure. Basic principal applies. N for vegetation, P for flower, K for health and vigour.
As for aphids, i got a pear tree that has been hit by many pests but thats the only one in the garden. No damage on the roses but i’m sure they’ll find roses more than palatable too. In anycase, i’d do an application of neemazal. When the plant is small, i prefer to dip it into a solution (2ml per 1L) and leave it for 5-10 minutes. First rinse everything visible off under running water than the neemazal treatment. I do the same for the roots when i bring anything in from outside. Thats how i do it and so far its working.

i bet if you foilar sprayed the soil with some azamax, there be little green worms come to the surface, cabbage worms layed by a moth, start as a speck turn into munchers, you def got a leaf cutter of some sort, did you just transplant it into the pot it in?if so go bigger,a good bush of roses would need at least a 18 gal pot, just saying, then you prune it back yearly, pretty plant, looks like it just took root from a clipping, check the soil friend, you dont wont them buggers in the hose, with that pot size ,wouldnt be hard to just turn upside down and let the shower head give it a good wash

@oldskol4evr thanks for advice, It came in this pot, yeah it looks to be a cutting, What is azamax?
Part of me is tempted to throw this plant out the window to make sure it can't spread to my weed somehow.

no dont do that friend, just tip the pot upside down and put under your shower head, with slow warm water, your just rinsing off any bugs that like to gather under the leaves, you might think im full shit, but every year aphids gather on my roses, colonies of them, stem will be black, something there they like but never did hurt the plant after a few days they gone, crazy right but true at least on my end, azamax is just perithine and soap stone,i use it all the time need more that i mention it,but what i do is mix in spray bottle and mist the soil wait a few minutes do it again, walk away come back in a few and then damn thing will be on top soil trying to get out bucket, they damn near wiped out my brocille and caluflour this year, every week i was hitting the soil, check out peppermint oil and lavender oil too, combine them and mix with a tad of dish washing soap and watch um run, dont kill um but fun to watch, they get gone for sure, outside i cant foiler much but every time i do they scat,i live in summer conditions for 9 months out the year, and bugs are big problem,my first line defense is boiled down ever pepper you can find garlic, onion, and oils,i use peppermint, lavender, orange oils, caution here friend,if you do this you have now made CS gas and the shit will have snot tears and all in between coming from your head ,but it works and organic if you dig,im amune to the gas so dont bother me hahahah, mama wont let me use in the house, lmao

Azamax is azadirachtin. A full spectrum extract from neem seed diluted with some vegetable oil and probably some inert agents. Same as neemazal. They all use neemazal technical and dilute it with other ingredients. Neemazal is easier to find around europe i think. Never seen azamax myself.

I live across the pond bro so no home depot or wally world. Neemazal is available to me and its the same shit as azamax. Jacks is not azadirachtin tho its spinosad but still an effective solution.

Well anycase thats a really small plant and its very easy to just wash it under water and spray with neem or spinosad or pyrethrin. And a soil drench with neem would make it better. Put the pot into a bigger cup or jar and fill the outer container with the neemazal/water solution. Don’t fill past the height of your soil. Let it soak in there for half an hour or so. Nothing should survive this ime.

Top dress the soil with a good rose food, and spray with Wilko's rose bug spray, job done.

Neemazal technical is what gh uses to make azamax. Neemazal ts is the diluted solution. Its certified and listed as an organic broad spectrum pesticide. Good stuff.

i finished a ferment of difrent kinds of peppers roots oil and such, takes care of anything flying, but no luck with soil born worms, that pic of the caulifour i posted, broccile too,got 3 all together that the insecticide didnt take care of,azamax is always my last resort, you spray the soil a litlle and watch um come out, believe it or not that plant has been like that for 2 months, already harvested everything else, that plant is the runt, cool ass plant, when direct sunlight hits it,the leaves drop down and expose the fruit for the direct sun, clouds up and the leaves fold back up,protects itself from night bugs, cool shit,i took a big rug and threw it over the top of that canopy were it was darkened, then open a hole for sun to hit it in a matter of minutes the leaves start opening, close the light it folds, hahahahstoners do strange shit for entertainment, lmao
