9 days so far drying.been experimenting a bit with lower temp 60-65f seems to be doing fine, humidity kept at 55% though. By the looks of it it will take 15 days at this rate to be done drying. View attachment 862042View attachment 862043View attachment 862044View attachment 862045Acquired these clones today from the originator of the Obama strain at Tigard Farms. Will be flowering these in 2 weeks starting a new grow diary. Going to stick with 5 gallon buckets and go out of my norm with a smaller canopy but going for bigger nugs when all is said and done:)View attachment 862046View attachment 862048View attachment 862049 View attachment 862050
Very pretty trees grown in a smaller container. Impressive

Gona crack some more beans. Bahama mama, pine tar kush, Kashmir 99, Rotten mayo haze/hyper cherry pie, Black indica.

Anyone ever pooped beans in rapid rooter cubes? I was thinking of giving it a shot. Seeds fit perfectly loose in the hole cubes stay moist constantly and with the plexiglass clear top the humidity stays high.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

i finally convinced my outdoor partner to grow from seed. i couldn't believe how clone dependent folks here are--not worth it just to cut costs or try to save a little time IMO. he's an experienced grower but very hard-headed. it took me two seasons to get him to do even a few. he used 'root riot' to germinate--some were seeds i got him and some were seeds from god knows who advertising themselves as god know what. he had a dismal failure rate!! i begged him not to use these plugs because they stay so wet. but i'm only now working from seed myself--after years of access to fabulous breeders with fabulous moms. yet another way california is very different from new york...

I would double-check with someone else but my advice is HELL NO

@Srenots would know better. AND YIKES--I LEFT OUT KEY INFORMATION!! palm to forehead moment. i'm just now remembering more clearly, and realizing a key factor!! Many of the failures were from the seeds he germinated in his house here in town, which is 500 feet from the Pacific Ocean. his house is always humid--and cold. and he wouldn't use heating pads. plus he had the cover on the whole time. i felt it was too much moisture for them. BUT...he DID USE THE PLUGS TO GERMINATE SOME ON THE SITE. it's way warmer and not humid, and the cubes were in a big open greenhouse, without a lid. he had a better success rate up there. as we up-potted, i remember really liking the root development.

i still had these pix in my phone to remind me...my memory seems to have been affected by the trauma of all those lost phenos...

Have always used root riot plugs for seeds with no issues. I keep the pugs at 78-80 degrees with a automated temperature controlled heating mat that is the same size as my tray. I wet the plugs and squeeze the water out a bit. Dont want them dripping wet.

Looks like he has the plugs at the top of the pots. I normally have a little soil in the bottom 1" and the plug down in there on top of soil, I put enough soil around the plug but not over the top of it. As the seedling stretches, you can keep adding soil to the pot the keep it from leaning. With the stretch them have, there wasnt sufficient light on them to keep the stretch down.
