Hopefully they dont lose to much weight when drying they are drying at 21degrees carbon filter on Air conditioner on low to maintain 21'but not facin buds
I always loose at least half in weight, doesn’t matter what I do, plant material contains so much water, it’s impossible to not loose at least half the weight! Sucks but inevitable.

Aye the bio bizz soils pish.i,v spoke to hundreds of growers who have the exact same opinion.theyr nutes are better than most though.or as effect as most but for less money.I dunno if you get plant magic in the US?they do a nice soil.never tried it but fox farms supposed to do good soil mixes.

in my experience actual fully dry weight is always 20% to 25% max of wet weight.

Not including leaf trim or scraggly loose or very small buds.

And I chop when pots are dry and would have needed watering.

I use 80% Promix and 20% composted manure ($1.79/30 lb bag) in 5 gallon buckets. I use Jacks 20-20-20 fertilizer, wood ashes, and a regular blooming/flowering fertilizer when 12/12. It costs about $60 to fill up 7 or 8 buckets. That's it. I've used this formula for 30+ years and never had a problem. Impossible to overwater, no Ph or nutrient swings/burns. It is as simple as possible and as reliable s the sunrise. The hardest part is deciding what to do between planting and harvesting, besides watering as needed. No pebbles, no perlite. No mud.
Folks don't believe that you can have a successful grow without all of the potions, powders, bells, and whistles. 1000 watt HID x2 in a large 12 x 8 room. This recipe is like a Timex, it just won't quit!

I’m planning on doing something like this for the next grow. In all reality they are just plants, put them in some decent dirt, give them what they need and they will grow. Fucking around with nutrients and additives makes it so much more work, avoiding excess, deficiencies, monitoring and trying to push the plant to its limit. I’m just in this for the fun and learning.

Will do the same, with identical clones and then compare.

I've used this formula for 35 years or more, and it is pretty much foolproof if you simply leave it alone for the most part. I grow simply for something to do as well as for a head stash, although I can only smoke so much! Folks simply can't believe that you can get great results without using all of the magic potions and stuff, although plants don't need more than a handful of nutrients, typically. I think you will be pleasantly surprised how nice you can grow with just a few items. A typical grow, aside from electricity costs, is about $75/grow with 7- 8 5 gallon buckets. Promix is what I use, although I'm sure there are other brands out there, although this is NOT coco. I have tried a few, but Promix has always worked out well. I'm more than anxious to hear about your results. This is seriously simple and dependable. If more growers tried this method, there would be a lot LESS failed growers.

For sure, I’m excited to see the difference as well. Almost done week 5, waiting for these girls to finish and see what my totals look like. Then try clones of same varieties with new medium. Should give a rather accurate comparison.

You use the wood ash as a pH buffering agent? I was thinking of using dolomitic lime (just cause I already have a bag) will be watering with RO
( 007 ppm).

What kind of watering schedule do you do. In 5 gal fabric pots with 25C max temp, I’m giving 1.5L every two days. Now that weather is warmer I’m getting to 30C max and they are needing 2.0L every two days.

I use wood ashes from my fireplace, since I know where the wood comes from (no treated wood) and it also contains P, K, and a bunch of micronutrients that a lot of fertilizers don't supply... plus it helps to buffer the soil. I don't use too much of it since Promix is already buffered (with lime if my info is correct) and I don't want to mess with the alkalinity or Ph. A cup per 5-6 gallon bucket works great. If you use lime, I would probably use less since it is pretty potent at raising Ph. I use regular tap water, which is around 250 ppm TDS, so I don't use Cal-Mag (plus the wood ashes provide both), although I don't see any harm in it unless you go too heavy with it.
Once the plants get going with alternate growth, I usually water them every other day and up to once a day later in flowering, unless they need more, which my Sativa's drink like a sponge in hell. When I water, I pour at least a gallon in. I usually fertilize about every 10 days or as needed. I just use regular 20-20-20 or a similar blooming fertilizer thru flowering and don't feed anything during the last 2 weeks. I've noticed that the buds put on a lot of flavor and heft during the last weeks of flowering, so let them finish fully. There is a controversy regarding picking too soon or too late, and the Trichomes changing potency and degrading the THC into CBD. This is true, but the only way you would know is by a laboratory analysis... the varying amounts of THC/CBD is much greater between strains than you will ever see from degradation of THC to CBD.
OK...sorry for the epic tale! I just want to make sure that you don't have any questions. Feel free to PM if you feel more comfortable, and I can provide some pics privately if you wanted to see anything. Keep up the great work!
